What's a bad movie that you genuinely like? (1 Viewer)

I came across this comic and thought the question was interesting. (Take bullet 2 as "came out recently" as in, not a really old movie you hold nostalgia for, but something that is currently in line with your tastes). Also, I like the last sentence, of thinking of things more in terms of "what do I like" rather than "what do I dislike." Liking things is fun!

Mine is Bullet Train. It has a 49% on Metacritic, 53% on Rotten Tomatoes, so close enough. It's entertaining! There are explosions! And multiple bad guys with their own agendas! And a good guy (sorta) who is hilariously committed to his therapist's recommendations!

I can't really think of any recent ones, but I loved On the Line with Lance Bass and Joey Fatone when it came out. I was raving and raving about it and the rest of the world hated it "for some reason". But now that I look back on it, I can totally see what that "some reason" was. I mean, who wants to watch a "romcom" with almost zero romantic value? It's basically two hours of Lance chasing this girl he met on a train, and it's not until the very tail end that they even remotely spark a romance together. lol oh, what a naive teen I was!

in my case the bad movies i tend to like are animated movies for kids, like happy feet (both movies) - yeah i know it's directed by the same man who made mad max so dancing penguins seem ridiculous in comparison but that soundtrack literally made my music taste what it is today. i'll never hate that movie. also legend of the guardian owls of gahoole or whatever that long title was, it's one of the first movies i saw in theaters and i rewatch it whenever it's on tv. i was surprised to find out it wasn't that well-received as the animation is gorgeous and the storyline isn't that basic and predictable. also the voice acting in my country's version is so good and it makes me love it even more sometimes i find myself randomly quoting one of the characters and only after some time i realise "wait, who said it?? oh, it was the animated owl" lmao

It lacked the dread of a crocodile film
it felt flat at times

Right?! It's just entertaining! And I agree, their duo was A+. They really nailed that "brothers who kind of hate each other, but always love each other" vibe.
