lmaooo mood any language is flounder timeI just flounder in general lol
Silent letters will always be the death of meOhhhhh did not know that lol
lol I always do shine- e likely because i think i first saw em on Star golden bell where they were introduced that way.Usually i just think s-n-s-d in my head instead of sonyeoshidae or sau-nee-shi-dai.
For me, its to do with the stan-dom name. Seeing it in writing while reasearching or b4 knowing how to say it in korean-i will forever think so-neh in my head, instead of so-won (they shd hv spelled it so-one in english). Tat is forever ingrained in my head since 2018 when i started to stan snsd n started learning more abt them. But my username here i think of tat part as 1-syllable Sawwwwn.
Imo, there is no pt asking this abt kpop names/reasons when it comes to english group/stage names. Just go with it. (Koreans just use hangul anyway, english is like just clickbait for outside korea.)
Also, i hv/had argument(s) very, very short ones, with my teenage niece (who is a bigger kpop fan than me), abt Shinee. I asked her why its not pronounced Shin-ee n she basically threw her hands up n said "i give up". Also when i asked her abt Seventeen having 13 members. Another time when i asked her abt NCT n their multiple sub-units. Shes v frustrated tat im interested in kpop but I DONT GET IT! (to her).
honestly ngl i used to pronounce shinee as shine hahalol I always do shine- e likely because i think i first saw em on Star golden bell where they were introduced that way.
