When I was little, I thought the "correct" way to speak English is with "proper" grammar and vocabulary as is used in formal writing. Now I realize that I'm an idiot, and that languages always evolve, and that the correct way to speak English is such that it's understood by others, which varies depending on the audience, subject, dialect ect.

Perfection in designs I guess? like with our frames? I only have 1 cake on the left, child me would felt it to be very odd, I would have expected a cake on the other side too, otherwise its weird and imperfect for me, both sides had to be equal or it was just ugly and weird, now I've gotten used to it and even do that in my deisgns child me would have been horrified

i feel really ashamed saying this but i didnt know what being trans was and i was like 7 or 8 and ssniperwolf was making fun of a transwoman and called her og gender and I thought it was funny now ik being trans is a real thing and a serious one at that

That's understandable, young kids are impressionable and can easily be led to believe things they otherwise wouldn't What matters is that you've grown up and seen that you were wrong before

agreed when kids are young we pick up on the stuff around us but im so thankful i turned out ok and not transphobic i have many trans friends which im very greatful to have met

Capitalism sucks just usually much as communism and fascism and monarchy (and a lot of other forms of government) The US isn't as great as I once thought. I'd say it could be worse but I think it hasn't reached the worst part yet. The "woke mind virus" that so many hate and fear has another name. It's also called compassion and empathy. lastly, I've learned getting old sucks.

well I've become more cynical and more pragmatic

also the believe that nothing really changes or moves the needle

'tis better to live and adjust oneself within the situation rather than to change the situation itself

what I mean by that is take for example climate change - rather than hope for something to happen I'd just try to mitigate the effects of it
