Getting someone innocent put in jail for a heinous crime?
Or saving someone extremely guilty from deserved jail time?

Tough one. It's a difficult question, but I think it might be worse when someone guilty gets out of jail. Because then they're probably going to hurt even more people, but an innocent person can only hurt himself.

I see both as bad. If someones guilty. They deserve prison. There’s been crimes lately that are where the guilty party’s time has been lessened when they go in for a court hearing and usually they’ve done murders and drug distributing.

An innocent person sadly usually ends up taking their life when in prison.

Both equally terrible but given some of the things people get put in jail for I think based on circumstances sending an innocent person to jail.

Someone innocent going to jail. The world is already full of murderers, psychopaths, terrorists, rapists whom haven’t been caught yet. It’s terrifying but it’s true. No innocent person deserves to have his life, his future cut short for a crime he didn’t committed.

I feel like someone innoncet going to jail is somehwat worse.

If somebody guilty walks free, i'm sure their case would be seen by many. Most people would know if the justice system's being useless as fuck(which is basically all the time). I can use an example from the UK. A boy called Stephen Lawrence was murdered in a racially motivated attack. Everyone basically knew the boys who killed him were guilty even if the justice system declared them as innocent. They walked free many times but karma played its role, and after some rule changes, revolving around the number of times people can be trailed in court, the boys were finally convicted criminals. However, if someone innocent is sent to jail they're life is done for. No matter what, if you are deemed guilty you're basically done for. It is far more difficult to prove ones innocence than guilt.

Someone innocent going to jail. I think it would be more unjust to send an innocent person to jail, potentially ruining their life and their family's life for no good reason. As other people have stated above, if a person commits a heinous crime, chances are good they will do so again and be caught at a later date. But even if they aren't caught, I would still rather have the innocent remain free.

Both are horrible, but like others have mentioned before, it’s worse for an innocent person to go to jail. The stigma will stay with them forever. In some cases, they’ll become disenfranchised and lose certain job opportunities.
