Lee Hi is unfortunately still with YG, that's just about the only good singer they had. They generally care more about style.

Amber's potential as an actual singer was so wasted at SM, so I'm glad she's leaving. If they had really pushed her more as
a vocalist, she would have been amazing. But they wanted a rapper even though she wanted to sing.

I would be more worried that girls like WonYoung, Yunjin, Yujin, Chaewon as far as i can tell never auditioned for SM. Heck Yunjin with her skills chose pledis (does not say much about her judgement)

and the big 3 all kinda saw her on kpop star at the very least. That was 2012 SM was still looking for RV members both Wendy and Joy were cast that year.

Granted YG songs are not best for her voice. That may have been the issues because according to wiki she was kinda in his orbit.

this is pretty awful although it may be just that i seem to really dislike yg styled songs, but as much as i like Sejeong that is hard to listen to.

i think her brand is so strong as akmu that irrespective of YG she is fine. (that they are still under contract amazes me)

Might not even reach 5 years considering it's approaching a year since they last made a comeback and I can only assume it's because they saw a drop in album sales for their last comeback which a hiatus like this will help even less.

SM hasn't lost their best singers tho. Kangta, BoA, Super Junior KRY, TVXQ, SHINee, Taeyeon etc. are still there.

YG never was known as having top vocalists. AKMU and Lee Hi are the best there and are still (sadly) with YG.

I think it's pretty natural as the idols grow older and their contracts expire. The next wave of idols will probably have a new set of amazing vocalists as well with different voices and talents.
