Lee Hyori. She made the leap from being in an idol group to successfully being the (at the time) highest paid female singer. She monetized her sex appeal in a society that heavily monitors female sexuality. Her brand power at her height was insane. She's served as a huge influence of idols even today.

There are idols in my groups that I like, but I picked her because you don't need to be her stan to recognize and respect her impact and the way she's shaped modern kpop, particularly opening avenues for female soloists.

I realize that my top 2 girls (Irene and Sana) aren't for everybody, so I won't be unrealistic and name them... instead, I'll go through each of the groups that I love and name the one that I think has the most global appeal about them.

• Lisa (Blackpink) - When she's performing, she can have a fierce, intimidating way about her... she's a very intense, charismatic performer... but she's one of the sweetest, funniest and down-to-earth KPop idols I can think of
• Wendy (Red Velvet) - This girl is just all around adorable and cute. When she's on stage, you're drawn to her electrifying smile and behind the scenes, she's extremely down-to-earth
• Nayeon (TWICE) - She's fun, funny, goofy and just has a very genuinely approachable way about her
• Kyujin (NMIXX) - She just exudes charisma and has a very electrifying personality
• Yuna (ITZY) - She doesn't even require an explanation. Just watch any video with her in it... performance or otherwise
