Sensitive Why are all fandoms annoying? (1 Viewer)

This is in relation to something I saw on Twitter for the past couple of months. In general I have seen fandoms have the weirdest obsession with celebs/idols they hate.

I will never understand people camping out under idols posts religiously for people that they supposedly hate. At some point it’s unhinged u don’t have to like every idol of course but it’s just irritating to see people actively go after them constantly. I feel like at some point u would need to stop. I don’t get the obsession, what is the point?

As I said before I have idols I do not like but I don’t understand actually going into there spaces or just spreading random stuff about them in a malicious way

This is not just about one fandom it’s all of them, they all do this even ones I am in. Sometimes people will do it under protecting faves and I get that but, Would they even want u to do that over another idol that they might not even know or like an idol they r friends with? Do they even care about other idols? 😭

I am not innocent of being surrounded by toxic spaces and lashing that on others and being mean tbh I am but at some point u have to let it go at least a little

it’s just annoying to always see it and be surrounded by it or maybe I am too sensitive

I’m also not the best moral spokesperson to talk about this tbh but it’s been on my mind for awhile and I want to say it

It does happen everywhere it feels like, not even just within kpop. It doesn’t make sense to me, but at this point I just ignore them if I ever see them, which is pretty rare. It can be harmful for the idols and anyone who sees these things but it’s not like those people are going to change their minds if they get confronted or whatever so I see no other reasonable action for that situation.

Yeah got a bunch of these stories. Not just twitter. But i advise u to stop following ppl who engage in fights. Even those who defend ur idol and harrass the anti, it just makes new fights to happen. I only have like 200 followers and they are pretty chill most of the time.

I had a friend, who had a problem with their own kpop friend. Let's say A is my friend, B is my friend's friend. Both of them were kpop fans but of different groups. B kept talking about fandom fights, and A was asking her to not bring these fights up in conversation all the time cause it makes her uncomfortable. So B began a tirade. "I always listen to u whenever u complain, i cant even laugh about these fights anymore, just so u know ur fandom is shit for this, ur always whining and i have to bare it" etc etc. A kept apologizing , but B went on her personal crusade. A asked for my advice and i told her honestly, this is no friend. People like B enjoy the fights, thrive over it , and wanna see the other side crumble even if it is their own friend.

Antis and this friend has one thing in common, they dont want peace, they want the other person to suffer.

Yeah irl in high school my friend unstanned exo bc some exols beat up an army for being an army (as in she wouldn’t call herself exol but would still love and support)

It's mostly people with not stellar mental health who go overboard with it since take someone who has low self esteem and feel no one wants to date them then they find an idol they like who does that kind of fan service and they suddenly are dreaming about the idol and now they have an unhealthy obsession from it filling a hole in their life.

Then you get into the competitiveness where you want your idol to succeed so you will sink money to beat who is perceived as competition and in general do whatever you can with some peoples obsessions going so far they either threaten or outright attempt to kill the idol like there have been cases of.

Overall the people who get into fights for their idol are in too deep as there's a big difference between just fact checking someone like if I counter someone saying Gfriend has never had a hit or something that's one thing but going on and on to someone who has a fair opinion is just messy.

Yes, I have seen it so much especially on Twitter, even with tv show fandoms where they hate the actor and find any reason to dislike them or they just defend really horrible things that a person has done cause they like them that is the other side to this 😭 idk it’s just a lot

That argument to protect the faves is such a lie, how was anyone ever protected by people fighting on the internet? No one ever changes their mind anyways, as only fanatics engage in this kind of behaviour. People just do it for themselfs and for selfish reasons.

yep and they don't even see any issue with that, even if the "defense" is 100 times mor vicious than the attack, its fine, as its only in defense
