As asked above, Why is Source Music being blamed for this whole fiasco? According to some sources on Twitter, The way that the news was announced was not even supposed to happen. Some news site called Tenasia first broke the news and from that point, Source had no choice but to confirm the devastating news. I understand that Buddies are upset and angry, but at the same time, it isn't their fault. They could have denied it all together but then that would be lying knowing that the girls really did not renew their contracts. The articles mentioned them going separate ways so I personally don't think they are going to stay together but, that's just my own opinion. People are quick to blame the company but never think about if Gfriend themselves really just don't want to be a group anymore I mean they obviously did not resign for a reason right? , ( Def not saying it's the case but it could be). Whatever happens to them I do sincerely wish them the best of luck.

i feel like fans blaming the company for the group's disbandment is a common thing, not just with gfriend/source music and i know it from experience after my hatred for jyp following wonder girls' disbandment 4 years ago. as far as i know, gfriend themselves said that they want to stay together as a group for a long time which is why this was surprising to many. sure people may change their minds, but after all we never know what really happens in those companies no matter how close they might seem to be with their groups.

I guess blaming companies is the first reaction, maybe not always correct but pretty often is :jisoosmh:

I think most of the outrage comes just from how sudden whole announcement was. Group disbanding is never easy to fans and cause Gfriend was pretty stable group I don't think many fans expected it.

Well the girls just released their letters regarding the news, I have read them all and from what it sounds like, they really are going their separate ways. You know this may not be the case for Gfriend specifically but I can say that there are groups that have disbanded that may have had internal issues maybe not with the company itself but within the group which typically causes conflict. This goes for current groups now as well. Just because its seems like they all get along, it may not be that way behind closed doors. I wonder what made them want to go their separate ways.

Gfriend have always talked about their bond and wanting to continue the group and there wasn't even any reason to believe there was ill will towards the company either as they have been pretty open about how they enjoy the company but with the tone of the letters it doesn't exactly seem like this is what the members wanted to happen so if it wasn't on them that only leaves one other party.

What's done is done though regardless of the reason it won't change Gfriends disbandment date being set in stone.

Yeah, I understand. There were rumors from buddies on Twitter saying that Source was going bankrupt and a bunch of their employees had left and that's why Gfriend did not renew, not sure if that's accurate or not so take it with a grain of salt.

I saw that but it's hard to know if employees were resigning as a knock on effect from Soumu being unable to secure Gfriend again as without Gfriend Soumu has no one until they get the NGG if they are managing it which I'd see it pointless to keep Soumu open in the scenario they are now if I was Big Hit.

Yeah, I think that also could be a very good reason, people don't understand the fact that just because Hybe/ Bighit has acquired the company, doesn't mean they manage them as well. Every group company that has been acquired by Hybe manages their own groups not Bighit/ hybe themselves yet people can't seem to understand that
