Why do people care so much about a male idol dating ONE person (1 Viewer)

Potentially a popular idol who has been in the industry for years could have already dated hundreds of people. Even regular attractive guys can get hundreds of matches on Tinder. How much easier it is for idols who’s personality is already known by people. Every time I travel to Korea and go to my hotel the entire place is packed with couples walking in and out, wearing masks. Things are definitely happening, and if you’re fighting tooth and nail to “disprove” ONE dating rumor then your perspective is completely out of touch with reality.

Because they're so interested in knowing everything about the idols' personal lives and think they're not human beings as well, so it astonishes those fans when something as mundane as dating hits the news media.

"OMG! They are dating someone?? What is this??? Why?!?!" are the questions they likely have in their minds.

I agree with you. Anything idols do they get verbally attacked and those so-called fans are never satisfied. So, then, what are the idols supposed to do? Not have a life outside of the industry?

I'm saying how fans have disproportionate reactions to what idols do.

Dating = they freak out and journalists make tons of articles about it because fans like consuming all news about it.

Idols who make mistakes are corrected, but then others get too extreme with it and start giving them death threats.

Then the worst idols, those who committed crimes and hurt people. What happens? Very little outrage or news. The only exception is Seungri but he had a ton of shielding from fans.

I think that was Giselle from aespa who said the word, right? I read the thread about her being the most hated or something for saying that and doing other things.

Many may not agree with me, but her being crapped on by accidentally saying that seems a bit extreme.
I understand she insulted an entire culture and she should not have said that.
It probably could have been prevented if someone in SM educated her, but it's likely there wasn't anyone knowledgeable to do it.
