Why do people say kpop groups have "fallen off" when they haven't? I feel like a lot of these are based on personal opinion and they don't take into consideration sales. Concept changes are something that tends to be linked to "falling off".​

People usually just say a group is declining because they have a narrow view of digital and physical performance in the present being the only thing that affects a group but you see with Gfriend who haven't had a chart topper since 2018 as well as having stagnated in their sales being unable to get out of the 60-100k range they fluctuated between that the name alone is still opening doors for the members.

Sowon and Yerin both getting roles without any experience in acting as well as Viviz being casted on Queendom 2 without the MC ever seeing how they were even with Gfriend being disbanded so being able to solidify a group name can go a long way into still getting opportunities past when you've stopped being trendy which people don't take into account.
