Why I think (G)I-DLE are getting ready to disband... (1 Viewer)

Hear me out.
Both Minnie and Miyeon have just debuted as actresses. Soyeon and Yuqi have also released solo content, and now that Soojin has left (G)I-DLE, she will now become a soloist, so that just leaves Shuhua.
The group are starting to do their own thing, so I think it's only a matter of time before they actual disband.

I honestly think it will be so stupid if they disband since they are Cube's most popular group.
But I think they might want to focus on their new GG, Lightsum more.

Also, with the disbandment of CLC recently, it could very well happen.

I feel like it's normal that the individual members of a group start solo activities, altho usually much later in their career, (G)I-DLE are still a very young group so it's a bit surprising that they had so many solo opportunities already.

I don't think it automatically means disbandment tho, maybe less group comebacks but I'm sure they'll still stay together for a while.

I’m not familiar with the CLC member’s names, but one of the members is on Girl’s Planet 999, and said Cube had dismissed them.

I don't think they are going to disband however I do think Cube won't focus on them anymore and why they started doing heavy solo work recently after Soojins controversy which the timing of it is really what makes it suspicious.

Might just depend on how their next comeback goes as I'd be surprised if Cube disbanded them without at least testing the waters but if it doesn't get the level of support that they are happy with then they might decide to put them on the shelf and focus on Lightsum.

I think the problem lies more in the timeline like Hwaa was released on January 11th then Soojins controversy happened and continued until March 25th and after Shuhua got her solo on May 9th which was followed up by Lightsums debut on June 10th and Soyeons solo on July 5th then finally Soojin left (G)I-dle on 14th August.

Within 5 months after the controversy Cube did 2 solo debuts for (G)I-dle members and debuted another girl group which were in a 3 month space themselves and that seems very rushed for a company like Cube.

They debuted early 2015, so their contract should be expiring soon. I guess dismissed means Cube have no further plans for them and are just waiting for it to run out. Also Sorn has deleted all her old youtube videos and posted a bunch of new ones.

miyeon is too good of a vocalist to lose her into acting the way we did with so many 2nd gen idols i will NOT let that happen tbh i don't think they will disband that quickly. they're not the first nor the last group to have a member kicked out and that doesn't always mean disbandment.

I doubt that they'd disband this soon. I feel like Cube just decided to keep the members busy with solo activities while waiting for Soojin's scandal to calm down. It might be a while until they have another comeback, but I highly doubt they'd disband this soon. It'd be pretty stupid of Cube to disband them anyways since (G)I-dle is their most successful group at the moment. (G)I-dle is only 3 years old so they still have plenty of time to attain even more success despite losing one member.

Must've meant Yuqi and well I don't think they will actually disband as Cube never said anything about CLC so they are probably wising up to how announcing a disbandment hurts their brand but just have to see if (G)I-dle has another comeback this year as if they don't it'd be pretty suspicious to go from consistently having 2 comebacks a year to only having 1 after the controversy.

I don’t think so. They are simply doing solo activities, probably prolonged because of Soojin’s scandal. Soyeon getting a solo is pretty understandable and Yuqi is following the China idol model.

I actually think it’s very smart of Cube to start their solo activity now so they can be a success group + solo acts in the future. Their probably going to have a comeback in October-December. Next year will probably be more group focused with hopefully a full album and tour. I don’t see why a middling company like Cube would halt or disband their only major act in years.
