It's a little weird, though, how skewed it is to mostly bg and not a ton of diversity in the GG who were recognized. (6 female acts vs 14 male acts)

I think they have so many "artist of the year" awards because they probably hand them out based on sales if you have an X amount of sales you probably get it. But that is just my theory judging how Nmixx was I think 5th on most sold albums this year and IVE had over 2 million sales and were ranked first GG of most sales this year, and then seeing how they too won made me think it's due to the sales.

Well, Nmixx only had 800k sold with their one album so far this year so I don't think you need to sell 1mil. I just think it's based on sales + something I don't know what else. Maybe streams, maybe it had a voting system idk.

I feel like if streams were factored in to the point where Nmixx edges out Babymonster, then Le Sserafim should edge out Nmixx....

My guess is they use primarily just numbers more than anything, and use criteria that biases to boy groups.

Only the ones marked as fan votes, and the top five have such low scores on the #5 place that I wonder if there was a filter on who even got displayed.

The others are all a mix of sales and the judges, who are all men.
