Aka jewel cases like these:

Some kpop albums have used the jewel cases, but majority have either cardboard packaging with photobook and cd inside, version of that, or sth more creative.

Personally I don't see point buying kpop album if it doesn't come with kpop packaging. I can stream the music without the physical album actually it's way more easier for me like that. So if there isn't nice photobook and packaging what is the point? I have planned to preorder the album for comeback before only to find out the packaging is jewel case and cancelled that plan.

Sometimes the cases come with special things like ar photocards though, things that aren’t included all the time in the normal kpop packages

And for basically no reason since charts refused to count it as an album sale because there wasn't any music on it.

I've seen another group offer a usb version but at least they included the songs, bts pics and the actual mvs

Yeah I'd still buy them. I have plenty of jewel cases from Japanese releases and use my cd player that's still in my room.

I really don't invest that much on jewel case albums since the inclusions are very limited and the packaging is so sensitive and since I'm super clumsy, I might just break it anytime 😂

I own a few jewel cases. They are pretty and still come with the extra stuff like photo cards, so I don't think they are that bad... the only issue is durability. I feel like jewel cases need to be handled carefully since they can damage easily...
