Im trying to think wat item anyone could buy tats usable (but doesnt depreciate immediately) n isnt bought as an investment fits in this scenario- recent items might be the latest Playstation XX (or watever model it was). Or Lil Nas modded sneakers, tat had the connected MV. Or NFTs. Or maybe a luxury watch.
In no imaginable scenario does reasonable price ~ unexpected price rise ~ usage decreases value. If its a car, depreciation sets in. If its a tv or fridge, sudden price rise is improbable. I think id hv to know wat item n how much increase value to consider whether id forego using it or not.
One example, kinda- comics or collecable trading card games like Pokemon do suddenly rise. But usually if you bought it at reasonable price you would already factor in if it suddenly rose in price before using it. Pokemon cards or an Avengers comic, say. Some collectors slab(encase in plastic) the item with no intention of ever using it. Maybe this fits the question? Idk. I nvr bought any cards, n all my comics are bought to be read by me. So my answer might be i would just use it. (Unless i bought it cheap n its value rose to a million dollars? But i cant imagine wat comic/card/other item i might buy would fit my price not to use it/sell it for a high price).
