If I knew the anime is getting next season I would wait but if I wasn't sure its continuing and I really liked the anime I would read the manga

Yeah after Ouran I read the manga, and will forever be mad that the anime stopped at 26 episodes. We were robbed of Mori raising a chick scenes

I mean I did for Attack on Titan, well, I caught up to it like a week before the last chapter dropped but I think that counts. I've caught up to Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia too rather than waiting for the anime and my choice would stay the same whether the manga was ongoing or finished to I guess you could count those too so it's an overall yes if I liked the anime enough
