Well, no, but I wouldn't be in such a position, so... but if I was it would depend. Cheating after 20 years of marriage wouldn't be negligible, but... I wouldn't end a relationship over it. Odds are in such a relationship there would be a lack of communication, intimacy, and stress likely led to the infidelity. Many people cheat because the relationship is dying... So there is something wrong with the relationship if cheating is involved. I'm obviously not talking about serial cheaters who are not interested in monogamy or have psychological issues.

Interesting, If I was in a relationship that was dying and they cheated I think that would be the nail in the coffin. I don't think I would be able to forgive the other person or look at them the same.

If the relationship was dying I would use the cheating as a way to leave the relationship. My point was if the relationship was very long and there was only one instance of cheating, then I wouldn't end the relationship.. but I believe in pseudo open relationships.
