Well, the new username stands for Saint Micheal the Archangel. Not that I want to be like him or anything. I just pray to him.

The character is a legit paladin with a Sword of the Cross (ie it has one of the 3 nails as a part of the sword)
The archangel himself makes an off-screen appearance when he gave another person one of the other 2 swords.
