Like, who would be your UB group instead? What would have been different about your Kpop experience(s)? Would you taste of music be changed?

Personally, I wouldn’t even have entered the Kpop fandom. The whole reason why I’m here and have been a Kpop fan for the last 5 years was VIXX and VIXX only. I never really cared too much for Kpop until then, even though I had exposed myself to a good amount of it. Honestly, bless VIXX, I got to meet you all because of them

Snsd is the reason I got into kpop in the first place
And I gradually got into other groups

So without them I probably wouldn't be a kpop stan at all

I probably wouldn't be here at all. I came to my first kpop forum to check kpop out. Up to this moment in time, Dreamcatcher is the only kpop group whose sound fully satisfies me. I like Kard for what they are, a co-ed, and not for their music. I like it, but when I found them for the first time, I disliked it. If it were not for Dreamcatcher, I'd had lost interest fast.

Same with me. If EXO hadn't debuted I wouldn't be here since they're the reason I discovered and got into K-Pop and the main reason I'm still a fan now.

NCT is my UB right now, but Exo was my UB before they debuted. BTS and Exo would most like be my UB if NCT didn't debut.

I got into Kpop because of SNSD. My best friend introduced them to me in 2007. A few years later, when Gee was released, I got into Kpop properly. You know, forum, fandom, websites, the works. If SNSD weren't around, I think my friend would've eventually introduced another GG to me. Probably WG. But anyway, if Gee didn't pull me in, Bo Peep Bo Peep would've. So, if SNSD weren't around, T-ara would've been my UBs.

I'm not sure actually. Its possible that I wouldn't have gotten that into kpop, i might have just been casual listener and not got into fandoms. If I was like that I think my interest would have eventually shifted away from kpop.

Though I guess its possible I would have just found another group to like. 2PM might been closest since they were second group I got into, but I don't think they would have been able to keep my interest in same way. Maybe I would have been more multifandom than I already am?

I wouldn't even say that I have an UB group, but if I didn't have any of my faves rn then I'd still be listening to kpop but I'd probably be all like "meh" on most of the releases that aren't from someone I like.

Kpop without B.A.P or BTS?!

I do think I would still be into the genre, Exo was the group that really grabbed my attention and I had later discovered BTS and B.A.P so I don't think there would have been much difference in my experience. I think Seventeen would be my UB group though.

I'd still be into kpop as EXID wasn't the only group who grabbed my attention initially as there was also Mamamoo who I was into as well so without EXID to give them competition I could have Mamamoo as my ultimate bias

I'm not sure. My friend is the one who introduced me to kpop so she might have introduced me into another kpop group instead... But I don't think kpop would be as popular as it is now without BTS or another group would have made kpop more popular globally instead.

My ult is Red Velvet, but they weren't my first kpop group. After School and f(x) were the first two groups I discovered, beating RV by about a half a year. I'm not quite sure what would have happened if Red Velvet didn't exist. I was pretty into AS by the time I found Red Velvet, but I also didn't really want to get into more kpop groups and become too far gone in the kpop world (so much for that lol). But Red Velvet charmed me and got me hooked and I quickly fell in love. I'm guessing one of a few things would have happened:

• I would have given f(x) another shot once I exhausted all AS content, eventually leading me down a rabbit hole that would introduce me to tons of other kpop groups, just like what happened with RV (on a side note, if RV didn't debut, maybe SM would have given f(x) more comebacks than they did irl before debuting another gg).
• I would have exhausted all AS content and then gotten tired of kpop as a whole
• I would have continued as I was before eventually stumbling upon my other current favs like Mamamoo, CLC, etc.

Although I probably wouldn't have given up on kpop as a whole, so I think the first or third options are most likely.
