@MrDetective inspired me to go on the hunt for my very first K-pop fanfic, and wdyk I found it! This was from 2017, so like seven years ago. lol I never did finish it or even get past the first few chapters... but believe me when I say that those chapters are hella short, way shorter than what I write now. Well, here goes nothing!
Chapter 1
Rachel’s POV
I ran around the house like a cyclone as I got ready for school. I’d slaved over a pencil and paper all weekend working on my math homework, and now I couldn’t find it! I paused for a moment to check the time and realized I only had ten minutes to get to the bus. I usually take my car, but it’s being serviced right now.
“Rachel! It’s 6:15; hurry up!” I heard my dad yell. “You’re going to be late for the third time this month! I don’t want to have to drag you home from detention again!”
I rolled my eyes. “I know, Daddy! I can’t find my math homework! Lily didn’t get ahold of it, did she?”
Lily is my ten-month-old daughter, who I’d conceived on my very first date. My dad has since banned me from dating until I’m eighteen.
Mom suddenly appeared with my math homework and slammed it into my hands. “Found it. Have a good day, sweetie, and good luck on your biology test!”
We have a test in biology class on insects. The teacher, Ms. Hendricks, makes her tests fairly easy, but they can also be challenging.
“Thanks, Mom! Bye!”
I rushed to the bus stop and slowed to a halt when I saw a new guy standing at the corner. He looked to be Asian, with a black bowl cut and almond-shaped eyes. He was very cute.
“Hi, I’m Rachel—Rachel Neal, to be specific,” I greeted him. “Are you new?”
“Mm-hmm,” he mumbled, followed by something I couldn’t quite hear.
“I’m sorry, what did you say?”
“Oh, just my name—Park Ji-Min,” he said in a Korean accent. “I come from South Korea.”
I could tell Ji-Min was very shy, understandably so. If I were to move to a whole other country on the other side of the world, I’d be shy, too.
“Aw, don’t be shy! I just want to be friendly. What part of South Korea are you from?”
“Busan; it’s a city on the southeast coast, directly across the pond from Japan.”
The bus came, and when we got on, I introduced him to the bus driver.
“It’s wonderful to meet you, darlin’!” the driver said to Ji-Min. “You can sit in any of the empty seats.”
We both picked the same seat in the second row and continued our conversation.
“What brings you to Chatsworth?” I asked.
“My dad moved me and my brother here after he…unmarried my mom,” Ji-Min said.
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that! We call it a divorce, by the way.”
Ji-Min shrugged. “It’s alright. It was the moving part I didn’t like.” Suddenly, he got distracted and started staring at me. “You have a beautiful accent, and lovely eyes.”
“Thank you, I’m flattered!” I said. “I like your accent, too.” Out of the corner of my eye, I saw that the bus was already pulling up to the high school to let us off. Ji-Min seemed to notice as well, because he said:
“Is that our school? It’s kind of big.”
“Yep!” I said. “Let me see your schedule.”
Ji-Min reached into his backpack, pulled out a folded piece of paper, and showed it to me. I looked at it and noticed we were to share second period science, fourth period math, fifth period health, and seventh period art. I pointed it out to Ji-Min.
“Cool! I think I like talking to you; you’re very friendly.”
I gave him an appreciative smile. “Let’s go to the principal’s office to get your locker arrangements!” I suggested.
“Okay.”
@Bara_Gisladottir thoughts? should I post more, or spare your eyes? lol
