this is expected though! According to my great research thread on age gaps in kpop groups, Survival show groups are most likely to have very big age gaps from oldest to youngest, up to 10 years!

Oh! It makes sense but I never really thought about it! I suppose when you have all kinds of trainees of different ages + backgrounds competing, that makes sense unlike a non-survival group, which is carefully handpicked by a company.

seeing that older trainees have potential to do well in survival shows, it sort of makes me wish that companies could have more confidence in debuting "older" idols and less really young idols (though, what is considered "old" in kpop standards isn't even that old. 30? cmon bro...)

yuuup it actually really does make sense! Especially if the survial show is not rigged.. the viewers do not try to build a harmonious group and just vote their favorite member I would assume, so big differences like that naturally occure!

I feel like with the ages of most groups that debuted recently, companies rather go in the different direction
