Announcement Introducing our new logo/mascot (1 Viewer)

Made by friend, he noticed that our logo was not that great, so he went out of his way to gift me this awesome creation, we will be using this from now on as our official logo/image. The logo is made to match with myself. I hope you guys will like it!

What is the mascot about?

Before @Ryujin formed kpopsource, she used to be a huge blackpink fan but over the years she grew to love many other kpop groups such as ITZY, WJSN, TWICE & many more. The mascot/logo is a tribute to that past of her & is a close likeness to how she looks in real life.

Great logo, i admire the artist for creating this. Lmao, did he draw the BP Bong lightstick from irl or photo reference, it amuses me to imagine Ryujin standing in front of the artist posing with her BP Bong to create this. Id like to order some stickers pls to stick on some items to show support for KS.

Devil's advocate: this is actually a terrible logo. Like, don't get me wrong, it's cute, but there's a reason you're not going to see any other Kpop site align itself with a specific fandom: it alienates users/prospective new users.

It's cute, but honestly I kind of preferred the old one. I feel like it just fit the site better and didn't show bias towards any one fandom. Plus it looks a little muddled on the tab while the previous logo was rather clear.

I'll work with the graphics team on the source file to make it clearer for the favicon.

Devil's advocate: this is actually a terrible logo. Like, don't get me wrong, it's cute, but there's a reason you're not going to see any other Kpop site align itself with a specific fandom: it alienates users/prospective new users.

Not alienating anyone or any fandom, there seems to be kpop politics involved in each and every site out there, my friend just made it for me thinking i was still happily a huge blackpink fan, we can think of the mascot/logo as a throwback to myself before i ventured out to experience the wider kpop world. I do not want to emulate what other kpop sites are doing, let them do their own thing and let us do ours. We might not be guaranteed success but i am sure that i will never give up.

It’s cute! I’m not sure it’s suitable for a logo though, the last one was a little more marketable. Minimalism is the trend in marketing nowadays anyway, but it’s also nice to see logos that differentiate from the common trend every now and then. :)

I agree with you that the last one was more marketable. But I feel like this one has a lot of personal meaning put into it for the admins.
