Hi, I haven't posted in forever and generally haven't been here in a while, but I had to post about this shit cause I'm annoyed. Not unexpectedly annoyed... just... annoyed

I could make a list of all the totally expected shit that happened but that would be too easy. Instead I'm just gonna say my opinions without the context of Mnets existence. You may disagree completely if you like.

1. Thank god Bayiyi wasn't first. I would have killed someone istg. Imagine having nothing going for you besides a famous brother and getting first place in anything Just put yourself in those shoes. You're extraordinary in no way besides having family relations to someone that is... extraordinary, I think (Idk, I don't follow TXT). I'm being tame here actually since I'd rather her be nowhere near the debut group... or the top 18... or the top 40 for that matter. Just... sad, very sad. And no... the argument that she "did well" and so her "fandom grew" are not valid. Cause it makes no sense since she did average at best and at no point gained new fans, she just had fans buy millions of cards to vote for her, cause they're insane.​
2. Shen Xiao Ting barely debuting as the most all-around person on the show is just I can imagine they rigged her in just so they could say "oh, we are international after all, we have 1 Chinese member".​
3. I'd honestly be too embarrassed as someone working at Mnet. For stuff in general but this one is just.... calling yourself international with 3/9 girls that aren't Korean... They did the same with X1 except all of the members were Korean - ALL OF THEM. Disgggguuuusssttttiiingggg.​
4. Out of the 9 girls that ended up in the group I'm very happy to see 7 of them, cause they all deserved it in their own way. The other one besides Bayiyi that I wasn't that stoked about was her opponent Chaehyun. Not cause she's bad or smn, I just had Bora in her place, cause Bora was just overall better at everything. So was Shana really...​
5. I generally predict stuff before it happens cause it's obvious what's gonna happen but Chaehyun being first wasn't my prediction at all, and that's likely cause it was altered for the shock effect. I've literally heard no one talk about Chaehyun online or make particular videos praising her or anything... quite obvious really. Still like her tho, no shade.​
6. My ideal groups would obviously not have this many Koreans. Bayiyi out, Chaehyun out, Youngeun out... and instead of em Bora, Shana and RuiQi or Yaning.​
7. Thank god Huang Xing Qiao wasn't in the group... I'd have stopped caring for the group if they took the worst of all the "vocals" that made it that far. She was last thankfully...​
8. Would have also been fine with Suyeon instead of Yeseo... tho I do love both a looooooot.​
9. I'm honestly so pissed about Yiyi I was ready to unstan, but I think I'll just ignore her within the group like I ignored Hyewon in Iz*one... tho, Hyewon was less annoying than this.​
10. They ended up having 2 main vocals surprisingly, I was pretty sure they'd just have no main vocal or call Yurina a main vocal...​
11. I'm fascinated as to how happy I was when announcing from 8-3... all of them were great imo and than they fucked it over with switching Chaehyun and Shen Tings places... can't have a Chinese person winning a Korean show after all.​
12. I was also hoping for more participants that had already debut like Bora... but at least Yujin got a second chance so that's nice at least.​
13. Despite my hate for how it ended I do think this group can be great together. They are pretty well rounded and even have a useless member to fill in when no one else is available ​
14. I'm curious to see what the positions will end up being too. Tho I can imagine Hikaru will be the main rapper, Dayeon might be main dancer and hopefully Youngeun is main vocal. Everything in between isn't as important. Tho Shen Ting should be the face of the group cause... look at that face.

    

I'm a lot less mad now after writing all this, especially when compared to how pissed I was when I was writing 1. So... it's fine I guess I'll survive, doesn't mean I won't rant more at some point lol. Btw the person I was rooting for most was Mashiro.

Bora deserved to be in the group as the best vocal on the show...

Ye, they bought phone sim cards in bulk that they than repeatedly put into phones, installed Universe and voted for her... again. Tho other trainee fans did this too, Yiyi's were the most vocal and spammed it on twitter.

Although I dislike her, it's more of a hate for her fans than anything else. And as you say, she has time to improve and imo that meant she's not ready to debut in this group yet... Otherwise she's fine, maybe she'd be better in the future than she is right now...

Yea, I ignored Hyewon at the time cause she had improved but not enough imo but she was fine, she was okay in the group and despite not standing out she wasn't a detriment but I can already see Yiyi somehow ending up as a detriment... or just being overshined by everyone else.

I also am in the opinion of not hating or judging Bahi for something that she has no control over. She wasn't in my top 9 but I don't think it's ok to rag on her so much since she literally did nothing wrong except be related to Kai? I think she's a really great girl personality wise and even though she isn't top 9 material to most people, that doesn't mean she doesn't have the potential to be in the future. So instead of crapping on her right now for something that wasn't her fault, all we can do is hope that she takes the opportunity to grow and become a better artist

Dude they did a reveal of voting after 2-3 days into it they were so freaked out.
then put SXT and Hikaru as the 9th trainees. Mnet clearly wanted more C and J group (while trying to kinda avoid Ruiqi and Yaning whos hate in Korea scared em)

the problem with all earlier vote ranks was it was illusion. People were clearly parking votes in sxt and the j 4 since they had to choose 1 from each group.

The mentors saving the last Korean in ep 11 was a horrid decision. Tone deaf at best.
