~~I didn't like Ruby~~

Ok let me explain
I like the potential it has, but I do not like the execution of the song. The effect on his voice is wayyy too much
the english lyrics don't flow well and sound awkward (they are also very boring overall)

the song itself has no contrast at all, it gets very samey very very quickly.
the mixing is... messy. Really messy. I wanna hear his singing better, I wanna hear the guitars better etc. I especially hate the voices on top of the guitar solo... why tf...
The guitar overall outside of the solo is... boring? Not only is it mixed in badly, it's BORING.

I like the song a LOT better performed live bcs then the mixing is better, but it doesn't help the awkward lyrics, it being samey and the boring guitar

♡ hmmm I don't follow woozi but i gave the song a listen, and yeah i see your point. I wish they made his higher notes more prominent cuz then the chorus would be way more addicting (like what they did around 1:40 which was my fav part) AND YEAH THAT ENDING PART WITH THE other person's vocals over the guitar solo seemed a bit too avant-garde compared to the overall song

And this is such a shame honestly, bcs Woozi is capable of performing and writing songs that are so much... better
This could be put down to WOozi not having any experience with these grunge sounds but TT...

I wish I liked this song a lot more....

i actually really like the sound he was going for; i listen to a lot of songs that follow the same formula and it suits him really well imo. the thing that bothers me the most is how awkward the lyrics are. i know his english is not the strongest so i think its cool he gave it a shot anyway but i cant lie, i reaaaally wish the song was in korean. at the same time i love the hand me a coke shit this is red too line so much, its really clever lmao

the voices layered on top of the guitar solo are a bit much i agree, it really distracts from the guitar which is a shame. as for the airy effect on his voice, i generally do like it but only when its used on a small part of the song like the opening or bridge. so again, i agree its a bit much.

overall i do really like ruby despite these ""flaws"", the lyrics is what bothers me the most and keeps me from listening to it as much as i would like to ;;;;

I definitely agree with you, I also quite like a lot of songs with a similar style and I think this style suits Woozi it was just.... executed.... badly and clumsily. If done right it could've been amazing, but sadly it wasn't
