When I was in undergrad I had a professor who taught Biology. She was completely incompetent and has to give retake exams to the entire class because she did not explain the material well. But she was tenured and had been there for over 20 years. Her salary was around 75k
I had a history instructor who was engaging and who I learned a lot about modern world history. Since he was adjunct status he was paid per class and averaged $2000 per course and taught 2 classes during the semester I took one of his classes.
I have conflicting thoughts on taxes, but I still think it would be a decent thing to do for tenured professors to offer aid to those in this position. Anyway your thoughts?
