Yeah, idk if neurodivergence stuff counts but two of those plus depression and severe somatic anxiety (mostly social) that I mostly got over all by myself thru pure stubbornness, I am really the most stubborn person ever, don’t underestimate, I went from having two panic attacks a day almost every day for nearly a year to like one every two months all on my own in like a week so that my mom wouldn’t make me go to a psychiatrist bc “I can stop any time I want, I don’t need help”, but I was forced to go anyways

Lowkey curious whether people consider prosopagnosia as part of the umbrella or not. I feel like it would because it’s a brain thing but ig it might vary from person to person
Either way Id be under the umbrella but I’m just curious about that one.

Prosopagnosia is labeled as neurological condition. Epilepsy has similar categorization and its on there so I don't see why not. But honestly, I doubt the umbrella has any social scientific validity and is mainly a means solidarity. Given that the challanges by many of those in the umbrella vary drastically among one another.

Yeah. Which was my point. Mostly when people hear neurodivergent its thought of as ASD, Tourettes, or other developmental disorders. If we're being honest though eating disorders and anxiety disorders should probably be added and narcissistic personality disorder should probably be removed from the umbrella.

True, not all are though. Idk if prosopagnosia would be considered a developmental disorder or not but it is something that causes difficulty in an area that most people would have no issue in and it can be either developmental in the sense that it is something you have since childhood or it can be gained from head traumas. So I can see why some might not consider it but it also seems to tick off some of the boxes. But who knows, I’m not a psych major

Doctors thought I might have BPD or be Bi-polar at some point but I think my current therapist said they were full of shit. Which I agree with LOL.

when you say doctors, do you mean like psychiatrists or like PCP?
