Oh I don’t have high self esteem overall, I just meant like I don’t think I’m below average intelligence or smth, like ppl call me smart irl and here too.
but sometimes ppl think I think I’m dumb (well in some ways yes but not in the ways ppl call me smart ig?)
I mean I do like it when someone calls me smart ngl, but if it’s in a situation where I know it could just inflate my ego, y’know?
so mostly things I know I’m decent at, I don’t like compliments as I don’t want to become overconfident or anything. In cases when they don’t inflate my ego they just make me shy tbh bc I don’t take compliments well at all

I basically downplay everything, problems, abilities, etc
As for criticism, as long as it’s FAIR, and also not just someone being mean I like it! Don’t just be mean

I mean I want to be the best version of myself and I’m a perfectionist so tell me everything that’s wrong so I can fix it! Ofc some things are subjective so if a critique doesn’t make sense to me and I still think I did well, I won’t take it to heart and be hurt, but I consider and regard every thoughtful criticism
ofc I’m ngl it does sting a little if I’m proud of smth and then criticism reveals it’s not nearly as good as I thought, but it’s a good thing bc it keeps my ego down AND allows me to make it better! It’s better than thinking to highly of myself or my abilities and making a fool of myself by becoming conceited, we wouldn’t learn without critique
compliments are better if it’s smth I’m insecure abt or just learning ig
but one of my biggest fears is complacence tbh. Not really scared of physical things

so yeah
I don’t wanna be arrogant or think too highly of myself and always become even better!
with covid tho I’ve become more complacent tho I hate it, just bc I can come up with something in a few minutes in smth that take other ppl days or can still do 50 push-ups without eating or sleeping enough doesn’t mean I should
