i think it's worse ngl
this just sounds like lsm is letting his ego take control of his decisions and that he's been backed into a corner so he's now willing to sell to anyone so that his personal production revenue funneling company can stay along with his status within sm
kakao might screw things up but at least it means that sm probably negotiated some other ip deals on top of the seoul arena promise
all in all, aespa probably will get the brunt of any changes; they compete too much with hybe's ggs if they were to get rid of the lsm kwangyaverse influence and will probably continue getting these cb delays, but if lsm doesn't maintain his sway then no one really wants to continue his vanity project

I agree with what youve said. SM is in a really iffy situation and i hope whatever happens doesnt hurt the artists of sm but i feel like theyve gotten themself in a situation where there will be some harm done whatever they choose. I also dont like hybe and their way to buy the competition so this really pains me.

basically, a publicly traded company sells portions of itself as shares that can be bought and resold at higher or lower costs; decision making rights about the company are (for the most part) proportional to the amount of shares owned
sm is one, and lsm is the biggest shareholder amongst them all
he's been looking to sell off some of his personal shares for a while
enter align partners who basically went "hey we know your personal company is funneling a lot of sm's revenue, we need to get external auditors (people who verify that the math is mathing and legal basically) to check over sm's financial reports (to pressure lsm's personal company out of sm)" mainly ig so that the financial reports look better then they can sell off their stocks at a higher price than their buying price to make that money
so they got together a coalition of smaller shareholders to do that, and kakao came in buying a significant amount shares -> kakao gets sm shares and in return sm gets some deals off kakao like the seoul arena still being built and possibly more to come
with the align partners coup and the kakao entry, they've backed lsm into a corner if he were to continue working in sm as before

I think the signs were already there though with all the longtime staff leaving sm: mhj, hitchhiker, all those nct managers

especially aespa, they truly are a project made by and for lsm and eat up a lot of money with their concept

the main area i'm curious about is how it'll affect the trainees and a&r side, the waning yyj influence is a given but idk apart from that

The big issues is that sm created new shares and bonds to issues to kako , thus diluting the existing shares. all in the goal of adding hip hop ect and the 5 different production center crap. Yes there was new money supposedly added but its pretty clear that SM broke rules doing this.

The march dead line is going to be mess if LSM and Hybe work together and the kakko deal get killed. the ceo's the coo and assorted others will all be fired also.

As to NCT SM has typically been a build slow kinda company unlike say yg who has to blow up out of the box.
And NCT was a huge uphill battle getting that concept to fly at all.
