Court decision paves way for K-pop powerhouse HYBE's takeover of SM

A South Korean court on Friday granted an injunction filed by SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo-man against the acquisition of SM shares by Kakao Corp , Lee's lawyers said, potentially paving the way for SM's takeover by K-pop agency HYBE .

We will just have to wait and see what they do since Hybe has always shown they're most interested in what they believe is in their best interest but it's hard to follow what they think exactly when you see some of their actions.

It’s the sound of defeat. I’ve realized as mad as I get about the situation, it won’t change anything realistically. I really really don’t want any of the groups I stan to be affected of course, but it’s not like HYBE will come across ks and decide, this users a huge stan of SuperM. Let’s not screw the group over. Well yeah realistically most SM groups sell well, but I still think it’s not as cut and dry as “you sell well, you pass” “you don’t sell as well, goodbye”. Especially when you consider how many groups there are under SM, at least for SuperM and GOT The Beat I won’t be that shocked If they decide to scrap those because the members are already in another group or something. Which would be the worst group to disband if just from a how dedicated am I to the group perspective.

yep that stuff, the projects that SM was always willing to risk. Super M for sure has hybe fan animus and GotB took a step back.. .lol.

Station may be on the block too.

Hybe takes minimal risk and heads for public friendly.
SM would push and push, and be willing to fail short term.
SM would look long term, Now Hybe's guy stated that they expect groups to loos money early giving the appearance that not every group has to explode like NJ and ssera.. but actions concerning gfriend and ne'ust do not seem to match that. not sure about the rest of their bg stable.

China is another interesting point. Does HYBE have any Chinese artists?
