Y'all address people as sir/maam regularly? My speech tends to be more casual so I don't usually. I guess I used it more often when I worked in customer service tho.

I only use the word "sir", when some male idol is being feral.

I think we are more casual in our country.


But I remember that when I was in the Philippines, I got called "ma'am" by people.

To men, I use ‘sir’. To women I use ‘madam’ bc some are sensitive to being referred to as ‘old’.

Same here, and for the exact same reason. It sounds weird to me, but I’m not sure why, it just does.

In Asia, we(or i) do address asian terms similar to sir/ma'am-like Auntie/mister/uncle/sister/lady or others(but for me not so much in english unless its a formal situation where i know they speak english, usually its my country language or mother tongue or dialect)
