He's likely got 4 months left at minimum, unless SM screwed something up.When is sehun enlisting I wonder
Ah isn’t he less than 3 months younger than kai tho? He's likely got 4 months left at minimum, unless SM screwed something up.
From what I've heard, rumor wise, this is an SM screw-up. As far as I know, there haven't been any recent changes to the enlistment rules. Kai's birthday was in January, it's now May. Going by that timeline, with Sehun's birthday being in April, he's still got 4 more months.Ah isn’t he less than 3 months younger than kai tho?
im so confused by all this, like kihyun is less than a month younger than minhyuk, when will he have to go, and now hyungwon is gonna have a subunit and he’s only a day younger than kai exactly
Wouldn’t it be 3 months since May is 4 months after April and May is one month after MayFrom what I've heard, rumor wise, this is an SM screw-up. The whole thing is a mess and has a lot of people questioning if other idols will go suddenly, but this isn't common. Usually companies know the time leading up to an enlistment, the Military Manpower Association gives them a timeline. I doubt Starship would have scheduled Hyungwon for a unit debut & festival performance (August in Mexico) if they knew he'd have to enlist before then.
Kai's birthday was Jan. 14th, he's enlisting May 11th. So three days short of four months. Using that, Sehun's April 12th birthday with the same spacing would make his enlistment August 9th. There are a few factors, such as schooling and certain awards that can mean a delay in service, as well.Wouldn’t it be 3 months since May is 4 months after April and May is one month after May
Kihyun is still throwing me off since he’s only a few weeks younger than minhyuk tbh![]()
Ah yeah but I meant august is 3 months after May so he’s got 3 months not 4Kai's birthday was Jan. 14th, he's enlisting May 11th. So three days short of four months. So here's the thing, when Wonho enlisted, it was in December of last year. His birthday was March 1st, he enlisted December 5th, just over 9 months later. He was actually 30 before he enlisted, not 29. There are many things that influence the amount of time before someone has to enlist, so it's possible Kihyun could still be active for a bit longer. That's why Kai's sudden announcement is so weird.
Yeah, I was counting from his birthday, which is likely where the confusion was. My fault.Ah yeah but I meant august is 3 months after May so he’s got 3 months not 4
yeah all of this is confusing to me![]()
It depends on their service type. Public service has less frequent intake dates than active duty so can often be very last minute. Remember when Baekhyun had to enlist, he couldn't promote his album because they knew he would enlist very shortly but didn't know exactly when so couldn't plan/book anything.Ah isn’t he less than 3 months younger than kai tho?

Tbh none of this really explains anything and still doesn't make Kai's situation make sense. Even with public service, there's still advanced notice. Baekhyun's enlistment was announced a month before he went, and it's actually possible the lack of promotion was due to not wanting to aggravate his condition before his basic training (since he's got hypothyroidism). Going back to Wonho again, he enlisted as a public service worker and it was announced 8 months after his 30th birthday, 19 days before the actual date, and he had two concerts two days before he enlisted. SM had to have missed something or screwed up with Kai, unless the rules changed again quietly after that enlistment dodging scandal. It depends on their service type. When it comes to enlistments in general it's usually up to 6mo after their birthday but they can get called earlier as Minhyuk did. So Kihyun is likely to be end of this month/beginning of June, HW around Julyish, and Sehun Octoberish. Anything could happen/change though and they can apply to delay for certain reasons so this isn't concrete, more a general guide lol.
Like I said, it's just a guide lol. There are exceptions of course, and opportunities to apply to delay. I just remember Baek saying they couldn't plan anything because they knew he would enlist but not when.Tbh none of this really explains anything and still doesn't make Kai's situation make sense.
