GFriend's Future Musical Direction? (1 Viewer)

Sunrise may have been a phenomenal track to some, but for the majority of Korea, it was deemed forgettable and for that, it severely under-performed on the charts. Although the so called "under-performance" is what many unknown groups would call "a big success", for GFriend, it was definitely another digital low point.

However, now that SouMu knows that re-creating Rough/TFTMN's concept and style will not get them anywhere, what do you think their plans for should be? Do you think they should remain true to the innocent concept? Pull another 'Fingertip' and do a complete 180 with concept? Or maybe a maturer version of what they're currently doing? Though I'm not sure how much maturer they can get, because Sunrise seemed like the peak for that.

mhh I defently love what they have been doing. Sunrise is one of my favorite tracks of this year. I do get tough why some may not really like that song or think that it‘s forgettable.

I honestly don’t know what direction they should go. So far SouMu has picked amazing songs so I would trust them to continue to please me

Hm. I don't think they should do a complete 180. Sunrise as a single didn't chart well in Korea but Time For Us was their best selling album so far. I always says it's better to have a smaller, strong fanbase than to have huge spikes of GP popularity.

Well I think they'd need to change their image and sound to get back to charting well again because I do get the feeling that the top 5 are kinda losing their power overall so it does give the feeling that they'd need to give something completely new to get back on track.

Yeah the top 5 are definitely slowly going decline. Well not really TWICE/BP but more the bottom 3.

Given how old Gfriend are and how badly Fingertip performed, I don't think there's much they can do that'd get a warm reception.

They're physicals are rising and they're doing concerts.
I don't think they need to worry about digital performance that much.

The concept is still solid. The 2 semi gfriend songs in PD 48 Might have worked especially 1000% ( although i like I wish more)
If they can sell worthwhile digitals and 80K + Physicals why jack it up?
