I have found when people say "it's good for men's health" thats traslated as only men are dumb enough to eat it... not that I believe men are dumb... but historically... yeah... :TechiNod:
Write a blogpost about the health benefits of anything and show it to my grandma. She’ll immediately decide it’s true. She’d chug acetone if she reads that it helps with liver health or whatever. :coronawimwim:

so, are you?? :winks:
I'm not apposed to eating questionable things, but never because they are good for my "health". I believe the only thing I've eaten that has a legend of helping men's "virility" is the maggot cheese but lots in france, men and women, eat it and it had the opposite effect as after my wife wouldn't kiss me for several days... :uheardthatbs:

I hope her life insurance is up to date... and I'm guessing she watches Dr. Oz?

Unlikely, I don’t know that show but I’m guessing there isn’t an easily accessible and marketed Russian version.

Moose milk :susPepe: I liked it
Butter milk. I used to drink it as a 5 year old and it's definitely an aquired taste... that I have since lost.

Fried milk, which is a southern Chinese dish. It looks like this, and it's soo good, bit crispy and sweet –

Wait, what did the moose milk taste like? :dubuthink:
Iirc kind of like pine and nuts :susPepe:We were told it tastes different depending on what the moose ate before it was milked though.

Wait, what did the moose milk taste like? :dubuthink:
Also I'm curious, just today I was looking up levels of lactose intolerance around the world and China as a while was one of the countries with the highest range of lactose intolerance. But fried milk does come up as a Cantonese dish. Do you know if they have lower levels in that part of China, or if frying reduces lactose, or is it something else? I'm curious. :susPepe:

Wait with butter milk do you mean fermented milk? Or something different?

Oh, that's sort of what I was expecting. And your last point makes sense, too ^^

Most of my family is from the south, and I know some are lactose intolerant whilst others are not. Unfortunately, that's all I can really say. I looked up just now if cooking milk reduces lactose, and it seems like the answer is yes. I didn't find anything about frying specifically, but Healthline says, 'Because of the changes in protein and lactose that occur when you boil milk, people who have milk protein allergies or lactose intolerance might find it easier to digest.' Basically, it changes *some* of the lactose to lactulose, it doesn't just strip out the lactose.

Also, I like that it comes up as a Cantonese dish because it is eaten more in the Cantonese-speaking parts of the south, not just the south in general. I should have been more specific about that ><
Interesting. I've read about people making yogurt and I think cheese in the past, which helped change lactose into other stuff too. So boiling milk would make sense for that too. I just wasn't sure how much boiling would need to be done, because there's a big difference from yogurt vs milk boiled for a bit. Maybe it's more just a case where boiling for a short time changes some whereas it would change more if it was longer. Not sure, I'll have to do research when I'm less sleepy. I also might make the fried milk because it does sound pretty interesting :sanapray: Not right now ofc but at some point. Since you know more about it is there anything I should look out for recipe wise or stuff? I know with some recipes people like to do quick and easy (ie worse result) methods or use ingredients that people from the area would have a heart attack from or whatever. :lisalaugh:
