Rice milk is the only one I’ve tried that hasn’t been mentioned here

Also my dad used to let my brother and me mix powdered creamer with water and drink as milk when we went to his office after school so he could supervise us

for some reason he thought it was like powdered milk ig

but I loveeeed it as a preteen

It's interesting to me, too, as I hadn't considered before that boiling milk could do anything to the lactose, haha. Also, I'm afraid I can't be of any use there D: I don't really dabble in desserts much, though I've been meaning to get into that.

But I get what you mean about the recipes, as they can be pretty hit or miss ><

Understandable And yeah, for example you can find all kinds of Bolognese recipes, including spaghetti Bolognese, but according to a recipe I found an Italian dies every time you use spaghetti for Bolognese. So if use spaghetti when making one I joke that I'm murdering an Italian I get why they don't traditionally use it but I'm lazy and we don't always have a lot of long pastas to choose from. But even crazy out there recipes that are very not traditional (like ground pork stroganoff with apples and other weirdness) can be good imo. But it is nice to have a chance to try something more traditional to get a feel for what it's like for most who make it, so I decided to ask. I'll just check out different recipes and see what's common and how they differ

Yes.. but technically sour cream is also fermented

Yeah, I was just not thinking if that when you said butter milk originally, I thought it was some new thing I’ve never heard of. I haven’t drank it straight in ages but I’ve always liked buttermilk
