Lit’s Detective Conan update part 2: manga part 2: famous detectives from around the world #LitUpdate3 ig (2 Viewers)

At the end of every volume of the detective Conan manga, gosho aoyama (the author) recommends a famous literary detective (or thief!) he likes, gives a short description of them as well as an image, and recommends his favorite story!

detective Conan is 100+ volumes and had its 30th anniversary this year (started January 1994) and he’s still going!

These detectives are from authors across the world, as well as Aoyama’s native Japan! Belgian, French, British, American, Chinese, etc. as well!

I started taking ss of them it seems starting volume 21

by enjoying detectives from all around the world and sharing them along with Japanese culture and lesser known (outside of Japan) characters to his readers he’s showing himself as a true mystery lover and acknowledges those before him!

I also love mysteries and read mystery novels since I was like 6 (and read the entire Sherlock Holmes at 9, I was a very early reader I was reading at third grade level before kindergarten and college level by 6th grade)

I screenshotted them because I would love to look into them and also read when I have time maybe in 50 years

I want to check them all out!

I haven’t watched it myself, but I heard many good things about it

So far all the anime (shows) I've watched have been thriller, the other two being Death Note and Erased

I don't know if I've heard of Psycho Pass, but I've seen "Monster" and "Young Kindaichi" suggested to Conan fans

I hear Bungo Stray Dogs is also a bit mystery?

I also saved the 80s anime Sherlock Hound to watch

Do you know any other thriller/dark/deep animes? Horror is good too

I watched Tower of God last year, it’s an adaption from a pretty popular manhwa
The story is about a boy called Bam, who lived his whole life beneath a mysterious tower
One day his childhood friend Rachel finds her way into the tower and Bam follows her
The tower is surrounded by a magical energy called 'Shinsu' and has a strict cast system, the higher you manage to climb the tower the more wealthy and powerful you will become
So, the people who want to climb up the tower need to solve different tasks

Season 2 is going to air this summer

I would say Tower of God is fantasy and mystery
And yes, Stray Kids sang the first opening (also one of their best songs imo)

The Bungo Stray Dog anime first aired in 2016 and the anime/manga is still ongoing
I don’t really watch many mystery animes, Black Butler might count as mystery

Otherwise I prefer Shojo and some Shonen animes
