Says they mutually agreed to end the contract so sounds like they at least agreed it wasn't working out for either of them although it's interesting timing since Yuju hasn't signed anywhere and Gfriends 10th anniversary is coming up so possible they're trying to work something out but trying and succeeding are two different things so we'll see.Hope this was a move in a direction she chooses.
Its a window and its become even more clear how badly they were treated in teh whole MJH power grab and the fall out.Says they mutually agreed to end the contract so sounds like they at least agreed it wasn't working out for either of them although it's interesting timing since Yuju hasn't signed anywhere and Gfriends 10th anniversary is coming up so possible they're trying to work something out but trying and succeeding are two different things so we'll see.
It was a bad excuse to claim Gfriend was losing money when they paid off their debt by Fingertip and were highly paid for events the rest of the time as a result to which I think Bang PD said they were Hybes #2 moneymaker if you believe him.Its a window and its become even more clear how badly they were treated in teh whole MJH power grab and the fall out.
the losing money thing has been proven false to my knowledge.
Hybe are just idiots and that spilled over onto them.
Publicly gf will not go against NJ yet cuz they are still the darlings of Korea.
i would be blaming mhj and by extension Nj. clearly whatever was going on behind the scenes during that mess triggered the dismissal of gfriend. It was a bad excuse to claim Gfriend was losing money when they paid off their debt by Fingertip and were highly paid for events the rest of the time as a result to which I think Bang PD said they were Hybes #2 moneymaker if you believe him.
As for NewJeans I don't think they'll do anything they think would hurt NewJeans because it's their sister group essentially and it's clear they knew the trainees because Gfriend frequently covers their songs.
I don't think you can blame the group in all this since it seems like MHJ has her ideas and won't let anyone mess with them and because Bang PD wanted something to go against aespa which was not the concept MHJ had in mind she threw a tantrum. This led to Source now being sunk in debt on trainees they no longer had which led to terminating Gfriend and Hybe spending money to get the Iz*One girls to slap a group together with the concept Bang PD had in mind already.i would be blaming mhj and by extension Nj. clearly whatever was going on behind the scenes during that mess triggered the dismissal of gfriend.
source clearly had a team either ready to go(with 7) or down to one more elimination. untill the train wreck got into motion
ssera was just hybe scrambling to get something aespa like out there.
if i remember the members also claim that source was good to em , and i think some ee's left with them.
its like politics ppl are lying alot.
the fact that nj is successful is on the bloody body of gfriend. ( far more that ssera since nj is much closer to a gfriend style.)
I get that, but MJH does her job and promotes sources group, they stay in house and gfriend gets more time for queendom or to work mosty like Fromis does but more popular in Korea.I don't think you can blame the group in all this since it seems like MHJ has her ideas and won't let anyone mess with them and because Bang PD wanted something to go against aespa which was not the concept MHJ had in mind she threw a tantrum. Had this not happened during the pandemic there is the chance they would've kept Gfriend on because I can only think they spent too much on Gfriend in 2020 wanting to try and make a big splash only to realize Gfriend needed to go on Queendom really to reinvigorate their brand so newer fans would check them out as they already had their loyal fanbase but weren't picking up new ones until Viviz.
Source today basically is a completely different company since almost none of the employees who worked on Gfriend are working on Le Sserafim or even NewJeans for that matter as I think MHJ didn't see a use for them and for what Le Sserafim was gonna be they would not have been useful to Hybe either so I think they allowed them to go as that also brought down operating costs for Source.
Ideally it'd work that way but I got the opinion she didn't really want to be under Source in the first place and was looking for an excuse to cause a fuss which when she thought she wouldn't get the concept she wanted she got that.I get that, but MJH does her job and promotes sources group, they stay in house and gfriend gets more time for queendom or to work mosty like Fromis does but more popular in Korea.
The covid deal hurt cuz where gfriend was strongest was events and they were gone gone gone.
It all traces back to source getting into bed with big hit. They stay separate source has the nj members as the new group and gfriend just keep keeping on. Also i think the girls are less stressed because they could see big hit taking them in a direction that was parallel and not upward, so it had become much less fun.
