SKZ is an abbreviation, but it comes from the korean 스키즈 (seu ki zeu), 스트레이키즈 (stray kids/seu teu re i ki zeu), in korean they spell the kids as [ki jeu, ki zeu] so the last part sounds like a z. International fans hearing that abbreviation probably just adopted the Z to the end.
