Do People Actually Wear Shoes Around The House? (1 Viewer)

So I have been told that this is mainly an American thing to wear shoes inside the house, but I was always told take off you shoes once you enter the house my whole life.

I was shocked that some people actually wear shoes inside the house especially on carpeting.
I personally walk around my house barefooted unless I have to go out for work then I will put socks on.
Even when I go to friends places I immediately take off my shoes when walking in because I am used to always taking my shoes off when enter my place off living.

Is this actually a thing that people do?

GOOD you should not wear your shoes inside the house, its just weird.

I have been doing it for the longest time I can't even remember when I started doing it so it was probably my mother who told me to take off my shoes inside the house eversince I was little. When I would go to my best friends house I always took off my shoes too as soon I entered his home. Now when I notice my mother having any kind of shoes on I will basically scold her for it lol...although she has a reason to sometimes keep her shoes on.

Now that I think about it my best friend always had his shoes off too inside his house and took his off as soon he entered my house. I never really thought about it because I figured most people took off their shoes once inside their house tbh.

I mean I didn't know about taking shoes off inside the house until I dated a girl from China.

My family never did nor any families I knew of.

So that was my first exposure to it.

I got so used to it after having a string of Asian girlfriends that I do it automatically now even though my family doesn't.

but i live in belgium where it's pretty normal to keep your shoes on ig?? my friends always freak out a little when i take them off in their house

At my house i take them off when i get home usually (like i am still wearing them now.) but not by the door they are in the living room/ hall back to the bedrooms.
But i typically undress to a over shirt of some sort unless its winter then i bundle up.
At my folks i never take them off until bed time.
My dad is death about wearing your shoes.
Same at most of my other family/ friends homes. 1 sister wants no shoes in the living room(white carpet wth....)
Oh and another that lives in a different state is shoes off.

No i've never worn shoes in the house, we had house slippers though or just wore socks.. (I perfer people to wear socks, i don't want to look at your weird feet in my house lol)
I'll only have my shoes on if i'm about to leave and i'm still pacing around my house doing something.

I am half-Asian and I am going to admit that I do sometime wear my shoes indoor. I do wear my indoor shoes, but sometime I forget to change my shoes and end up wearing my indoor shoes outside. My step-dad is the only full Asian and from China, but he wear his shoe indoor a lot of the time anyway. Though we don't keep our shoes in the front door, so we have to walk in with our shoes on till we get back to the bedroom.

but thats an extra step you need to remember.....and I always lose things....and its hard to jump up the stairs 2 at a time of jump down the stairwell with them on.....

im supposed to take my shoes off in the house but I dont do it anyway... im just to lazy by the time I come home so I just dont think anything of it.
but when I go to other peoples house I always ask if I should take off my shoes because I know that a lot of people dont like it when they have people walking with shoes inside of their house.

I usually take my shoes off when I enter my house. Unless if I'm in and out of the house to carry groceries in.

also i always take off my shoes in my friend house because i'm used to but also i don't want to make their house dirty

i can't understand people who walk with shoes in their house, when you literrally walk outside with this shoes everywhere and they become dirty and then walk with them everywhere in your house. When a house is suppose to be clean.
