making those full albums was a trade off, since so many of the members were busy.
Easier to space all the recording ect out.

If she says a really long time makes me wonder if its like a year or more in advance .

really the first thing that came to mind was f(x) and ppl always complaining about the 3 full albums in a row with no minis.
I thought its nice context.

But what's the spacing/timing of the 3 full albums?(& netizens/antis complain abt BP's schedule/slow release of mini albums/singles then 2 full albums in a row, I'm used to yrs between albums from my fave indie female singer/Songwriters of the 80s/90s/2000s/2010s before i started stanning SNSD/kpop ggs so i nvr fully got into tat hate train/complaining mindset. When the gg/artist releases a work im happy to buy it/appreciate it in its own schedule-i rmbr before the web being surprised when my first fave dropped a album n i just randomly browsed a music/cassette tape shop n bought it <1995-2005/1999> i could google the release date but too lazy. I even had to wait hrs to get home n listen to it, sorta like equivalent commute between manhattan n Brooklyn or jersey city maybe-not sure timing/distance suffice to say I nvr could listen immediately either cassette/cds in those days. Always had to wait to get home to my boombox/CDs I played on work mac during working hours, why iv gotten out of habit of buying music now. Just listen on free spotify/youtube)

F(x) fans have legit complaints of confusing management. heck they didn't get a fandom name for almost 7 years. (Jan 2016)
Pretty much just in time for them to never come back again(ie they never released another album of any kind after that). Once Victoria went back to China it was over.

That f(x) got any buzz with SNSD sucking up all the oxygen proved how strong they were.
But SM just could not pick a path to get them to the next level.
It didn't help that the fanbase was the most fractured fanbase i ever watched.

Black pink worked because of the media environment. debut them in 2009 and ill bet it would have been worse than f(x). at least not as good as 21.
