Dara's tricky because she actually has some position in YG. If she quits, she risks losing a good source of stable income and for what? But then again, that company is in shambles right now lol. Although I have a feeling they'd bounce back tbh.

As we know she is the richest female idol and in the top 5 richest in the industry. IDK if that comes from 2NE1 + solo actives + investments or supplanted heavily by her position as director of PR. Either way I think her wealth is secure and I suspect doesn't come that much form the rather recent appointment as director of PR. I mean she's richer them IU! How many heads of PR at the Big 3 are richer then IU? Also again, how much does she want to continue music? She is the director of a department, she knows how her and CL are completely non-priority for whatever reason, even the guy from Sechishes is ahead of them.

YG artist are doing well despite the controversies but like I said what makes and breaks a company is the market not the popularity of their artist. YGE is being hit straight in the gut at their financial core due to criminal charges/investigations. Their #1 and #2 money makers BIGBANG and IKON are the cause of that lost and BP and the others evidently can't match up monetarily to BIGBANG & IKON. Hell even IKON, WINNER and BP combined pre-controversy couldn't deliver the money of one BIGBANG. Not to mention they owe 50 million USD to Louis Vuittion but have dropped 40-50% in value. The debt is due I think by October. So yes their artist are popular still but since post-2014 YGE has been struggling to have a variety of top players in the 3rd Gen and has been going down in value on the market. Unless BP pulls a BTS..what can they do?

Of all of those business ventures, only YG+ has a good standing because Nona9on and Moonshot have never been a thing in Korea, despite being promoted by YG idols and don't make me start with TV shows, we all know that ended.
On top of it, they didn't prepare themselves to survive without BB. It baffles me how they all knew BB was about to enlist and yet did nothing to organize things, so every group would have a good schedule and material to cover up Bigbang's absence but no, instead they decided to squeeze every BB member as solo until Seungri's case exploded.

Learning about the overextensions helps explain how after almost a decade of 2NE1, BIGBANG, Se7en and PSY the company's value was falling. It seems this Louie Volition debt is another over confident investment.

YGE is ran by over cocky fools. I guess they thought BP, WINNER and IKON would all follow in BIGBANG and 2NE1's footsteps and BIGBANG would last forever. To this end they thought they could destroy 2NE1 (thus having no backup for BIGBANG) and mess around with the younger artist promotion cycles. Like I said before, even if they still mismanaged WINNER and IKON, if they had BlackPink and 2NE1 + 2NE1 solo careers that would have helped tremendously. Hell the controversy could had been overshadowed by the hype of a 2NE1 ten year album + world tour. At the end of the day YGE didn't account for how a consistent work ethic would pay off, how vulnerable shelving your 2nd biggest act would make you and how the competition would step up. I mean SM and EXO, JYP and TWICE, Big Hir and BTS! One, two or all three have been blowing YGE out of the water since 2012-now.

I've been waiting for this! Like I really was disappointed that during Spring & 4:44 she didn't do variety appearances but I'm sure those are invite only so Bommie has proved she is still one of Korea's most beloved and in demand voices. I wonder if this is for July or her rumored August comeback. I won't lie I want her August comeback to do a lot better then 4:44 but when you constantly release music it won't always be a mega hit like Spring or You and I or Don't Cry.
