In our solar system, there is only one planet that contains life (Earth). Therefore, all the other solar systems in the world must also have a planet very similar to ours which also contains life. There are an uncountable number of solar systems in our universe which means that there must be billions upon billions of life that we haven't discovered yet. I remember reading/watching this a few years ago but I can't remember where. I just remember finding it a very interesting theory. I'm not quite sure about what I think but I would like to believe that there are and that we aren't alone in this universe.

What about you? Do you think that aliens exist and there are other places in the universe with life forms?

It'd be pretty sad if we're the best the universe can do :nayeonisdone:

It'd be bit weird if only one planet amongst countless had life so I would think some extraterrestial life exists. But i don't think it's similar as humans or maybe not even animals, but some kind of insect like creatures or something else like that seems pretty believable, and some kind of plants too.

I agree. We call our planet the Golidlocks planet because it had the perfect condition for life to form. But I think it was the perfect condition for plants and animals we have on this Earth to form. I feel like there might be different planets containing different air (maybe no oxygen at all) and different conditions that can also give birth to different life forms that depend on different things to survive.

Of course.

I'm not entirely certain if anything has ever visited here before - though it's possible, if they have the technology to do so.
But if they were the type of beings that could shift shape and after observing a bit of how humans look, act etc could blend in it's plausible that there have been some that have.

Haven't you ever seen those people you think are strange AF, they look to just be people-watching like most of us enjoy doing, but when you approach they act sketchy or strange - you think, are they on drugs or just weird? They might not be. They might be from another planet and not have the same social structure as us, or they might think that perhaps you have seen through their disguise and worry about exposure.

It's quite plausible that somewhere else in the universe, there are other beings that are quite similar if not the same as those on Earth, just in an alternate reality (but simultaneously occurring, just on another planet).

I think it would be sad if we were the only living beings, especially of intelligent life, in the universe in which we live.

I definitely think that there is extraterrestrial life out there somewhere. I think we could still find life in our own solar system, considering there are multiple icy/watery bodies floating around our sun or other planets. If not here, I would be shocked if there isn't any life anywhere else. The universe is just so big that I find it hard to believe that this is the only planet that managed to have life on it. However, I expect the vast majority to be microbial.

This topic actually is very fascinating to me.

Being a sci fi and fantasy nerd, I love to think that these things are possible - and actually, with our newer discoveries about the planets and their typography and geographic workings I believe we are getting closer.

I think it's likely that there's at least one planet in every solar system that is similar to Earth in flora, fauna, and organism growth and habitat - we just happen to be the one for the Milky Way. But as others have mentioned, I feel if there are others in our solar system that have growth and life, it's likely not human in nature but rather something entirely unknown to us currently. Any planet that harbors human-like intelligence and life is likely part of another galaxy.

I remember reading about one of Jupiter's moons which seemed to be normal on the outside but had water underneath it, meaning that life could form/be there. I also expect that any other life forms in our solar system would be mircrobial otherwise I feel like we would have discovered them by now. I don't think I've ruled out the possibilty of developed life forms in other solar systems though.

I think it makes the most sense that more is out there. We have alot to still discover so I think we are in for some surprises

That's quite interesting. It's opened up a new train of thought to me because I never really considered that we might already have aliens living on this earth. The thought is quite scary and fascinating at the same time because if they have managaged to blend in with us, then it's possible that they can do much more. It's the sort of thing you see in scifi movies but it's still an open option.

Yeah Jupiter's moon Europa is covered in ice and probably has a huge ocean under it. Another moon, Enceladus, orbits Saturn and could be kinda similar. Plus, there are still icy areas of Mars, a planet that is also in our sun's habitable zone (although other factors currently make it difficult, but not nearly impossible, for life to exist there). And I think that it's possible for more complex forms of life to exist in those oceans hidden under the ice of the moons.

I'm not one of those "crazy alien believers" - you know the eccentric sort that...well...are a bit off to the most extreme?
But I think having thoughts about the possibilities of such things as I mentioned is something I do on a very regular basis. It's quite fun to think about - but also a little frightening only due to thoughts of what other life forces could do to us or our societies if given the opportunity to do evil. But I think, like with our own, there are the intelligent, the not so intelligent, and the good and evil among their life forms.

I'm willing to bet that any life forces that find ways to visit our planet, possibly blend in with and learn about our society, will find our food to be the most exciting thing to them. I know it is for me.

Definitely. Honestly, I highly doubt there isn't other life. Maybe not "aliens" as we depict them, with green skin and beady eyes, but something. Even something like a single-celled organism, or something microscopic. There in an infinite number of possibilities, tbh. It could even be a life form that's completely unexpected, like a plant-like organism with eyes. We've yet to discover all the life forms on Earth, who knows what the universe holds. Also, I feel like everyone is expecting that the planet needs to have water for the organism to survive. Like I stated earlier, this organism could be completely different, and not even need water. Who knows? Maybe they're even more developed than us.
