Atif, meaning "The Kind One". All of my siblings and I share the same last name excluding my brother. Atif is a male last name, so I'm honestly curious as to why my parents gave me a male name. Most likely because males are more respected in Asia.

i think it's just the French form of Mary. It's a pretty common first name in older women so a lot of us are named after relatives. I've actually got a few aunts named Marie

Funny thing, most Estonians don't have middle names! Of course there are some exceptions and it's not like it is banned to have 2 names... but most people don't, including me!
