I think it's the music, the dancing and the visuals all combined together. Not the visuals of the idols themselves (although that could be a factor), but the visuals of music videos, styling and stages. Companies spend lots of time and money on props, stage outifts and MV production to make sure they are top notch and it pays off. A lot of the time, some of the most famous songs are incredibly catchy as well. Kpop has found a way to combine catchy music with excellent visuals all into one which is what makes it so addictive imo.

Kpop fans also get a huge variety of content, from kpop crack videos to v-lives, countless fancams to variety show appearances and even acting roles. The content never really stops and you keep on watching and watching until you're addicted before you know it.

One of the things ifans rage most about.....

The groups put in effort to get you personally connected with them.
Western artist release stuff they do not give a dam if you like them/ care about them.

Kpop acts ask for you to watch over them, care for them, support them stay with them ect ......
Asking has power!!!

Its fun and semi clean... folks whine about the Disney ish nature, but ill bet most fans also liked Disney and dream of a world that simple.

Music is fun and catchy, it draws you in. Even if you cringe at cute concepts they are paired with so catchy music that you can't but stream it :jisoosmh:

And members make you invested, they provide lot of fun and heartwarming content to consume, you get to know them

Visuals, music, the dance. (even the language sung) Korean. (Is the reason I got into it)
There are so many great groups all the time too.

And also because, just the overall 'feels' and 'emotions' you get when looking at the videos etc.
They are just so awe inspiring!

because it‘s constructed that way. look back at H.O.T and the boys were made to be a mistery, songs are catchy and the looks and vocals were there too. that‘s how all the teenagers got obsessed with them and that’s mainly how it is now ( tho instead of misterious, idols have gotten more personal and open in my opinion?)

the performances, visuals, and music tbh. not to mention that the kpop market is saturated, so there are groups for literally anyone and everyone. if your favorite group disbands, there's gonna be another group to try and replace them. if you dont like popular groups, then there are plenty of nugu groups for you to stan. if you like the style of more popular groups, the big 3 and other mid-sized companies have multiple groups for you to get interested in. although there are some groups who can't be replaced in terms of presence. and tbh that's why kpop is getting kinda boring rn, because the market is so saturated, it'll pull you in but after a while, it can get boring if the people who you stan dont update a lot. and the honeymoon phase which every kpop fan goes through when they first get into kpop fades until there faves update, and even then... it can still get boring. that's what we're going through rn, a drought of groups who are interesting enough to have some sort of presence in kpop.
