I'm not talking about fandoms necessarily, but simply the most loved/famous female artist who is even loved by those who aren't her fans.


I would say that no one can beat IU in this case.

I'd probably go with Taeyeon since while inside of Korea IU would dominate by far, outside of Korea Taeyeon has the room to catch up as some ifans just see IU as a boring ballad singer.

As for females in groups, I think Taeyeon has the best public recognition and one of the strongest individual fandoms. Her music charts really well and she's the best selling female solo (albums). She also gets into lots of controversies but no matter how much K-nets hate her, her public recognition is really strong.

Actually IU's public image has bounced back a lot, I think she's mostly loved right now and not even seen as that controversial. Haven't seen hate comments towards her in ages ^^
