Amber's CBS interview confirms my suspicion ive always had about Sulli (1 Viewer)

Amber said Sulli would get upset about the comments but then an hour later be completely over it.

As a GIGANTIC Sulli fan (shes been my ultimate bias since I discovered kpop) I always got the impression Sulli suffered more from loneliness and boredom than she did from hate comments. She was just never the same after her and Choiza broke up. She was never able to recapture that ultimate high she got with him. Let's not forget she was rushed to hospital after an alleged suicide attempt shortly after the two separated.

This is just my opinion. I obviously have no idea what she was going through.

But theres just not enough evidence to say yes she couldn't take the comments anymore and chose to end her life because of it.

Touchy subject I know. But Amber interview just reminded me I've always felt this way.

It was a strange interview seemed like she was playing both sides of that fence.
1. she was much better than her at handling them.
2. folks gave her grief about living her life and amber felt strongly about that almost insinuating that she thought the pressure got to her from the antis.

Suili and Hara were both likely broken like most of us, but they could not live in the happy spot.

I feel like things like this don't have just one cause. It would be incorrect to say Sulli died because of hate comments, but I feel like it would be as incorrect to say they played no part.

I wrote and deleted a long post somewhere else, i keep thinking about this issue but these are just my own thoughts: There's a story in Watchmen comic, n probably movie- Man goes to doctor, says (paraphrase) life is getting him down, feels its meaningless n pointless, maybe feel like killing himself or just feeling down, cant remember.
Doctor says solution is simple; great clown Pagliacci is in town. Doctor says man should go see Pagliacci clown perform, will pick hi right up.

Man cries out. "But doctor,I am Pagliacci!" End of story.

I was reminded of this story while thinking of Christopher Reeve and Robin Williams friendship. After ChristopherReeve died i heard a story of how after his accident two separate things happened(dont know which order they happened tho); one was his college roommate Robin Williams went to his hospital room and cheered him up. another was that Christopher Reeve talked to his wife and said (paraphrase) maybe we should think of pulling the plug on him since he would always be a burden on her and his family since he was paralysed from the neck down. She said sth like she would accept his decision but as far as she was concerned, she would always fight on if he decided to live on and fight. He decided to live until he died from causes exacerbated by his paralysis.

But his friend Robin Williams who cheered him up and maybe inspired him (Chris) to live-who (Robin) himself died by suicide. Im not judging but the clown(Robin) who could cheer people (Chris) up in real life, died from suicide. That saddens me so much, especially after finding out what he did for his friend Christopher Reeve.

I think of that regarding Sulli and Kara and even Jonghyun who i heard about in dec 2018, without knowing how closely related he was to other idols i liked then and now. The idols who brought so much enjoyment to the world, seeed to me now, were like Pagliacci, unable to realise or find a way out from their pain other than escaping it the only way theycould think of. I wish they could have found a way to live on like Christopher Reeve, but i dont know their pain and just hope they're at peace now.

I don't think it was one particular thing but a lot things that coordinated in the worst of ways. Hate comments, her relationship with Choiza, her image, her parents, mental illness, being on her own from a young age, just not suited for being a celebrity or just not being able to be happy etc.

From most accounts, it seemed to be an out of nowhere thing, maybe something happened in that moment that made her decide enough was enough.
We'll never know

In all my years of life I will say happiness is just a mask. Sure we can be happy, and that is a goal. But when it comes to facing other people it's almost instinct to wear a happy face as so not to worry others. A person who goes from one extreme to another pretty quickly is either wearing a mask and/or maybe suffering some other mental disorder. What Sulli faced is some pretty brutal comments that would even wear down the toughest of skin.

I'm not saying that it was the comments, the comments just being a factor of what probably was many. I'm just saying to rule it out sounds like Sulli was wearing a mask so not to worry Amber.

While Amber and Sulli were very close, Amber couldn't possibly know if Sulli really got over the comments that quickly or just pretended to.

As for if they killed her well Sulli was in the industry for a long time from a young age, she could've easily developed unhealthy ways to cope that lead to feelings piling up inside that just came to burst.

I think it‘s clear that a lot has played into it. Celebs are facing so much and there are also personal problems only that individual would know.

I agree, to be honest, seeing people being like "society killed her" and all that makes me feel like it limits the tragedy and limits her as a person. Obviously the comments would hurt to some extent. I think it was a combination of personal factors + career +upbringing + personality/nature/mindset that led to this. Even if you're close to someone, it doesn't really mean they'll know you well or understand you at all. It's so easy to laugh and smile. From what I saw, it seemed Sulli's "enviable" life was really just her trying to fill up a space that couldn't be filled within her. But then again, I don't really know anything, that's just what I think about it.

This so much, I really love Sulli n Hara now. But nobody blamed haters n hate comments when Western celebrities died in the recent past. They were some beloved celebrities who I don't want to name (you can google/research wikipedia them), but they (western celebrities) weren't hated, I think. It's so complicated. Maybe it's everything all at once for some people, n feeling alone n abandoned(tho I don't believe her friends abandoned her), just tat she/they may have felt so in the months before October n November. This is just my own thoughts, not any kind of judgement or speculation of her/their friends. I've been thinking abt this since before October 2019, maybe since after dec 2017 n thinking bk to 2014. (End May 2019 was quite bad with two incidents occurring one after the other, tho the first was worse than the subsequent one {sorry to be oblique but 2nd wasn't a suicide attempt, I think} n I dint realise the first may have directly influenced the 2nd until right now.)

The world sometimes gets too overwhelming for some, even if people do contribute hate n hate comments to make it more so.

I wish people were more kind to each other. It's 2020 now. I hope for a better world for everyone. Stay safe everyone n I'll do the same.
