ETA: Gist of movie: other types of trolls exist and they sing different kind of music ("original" trolls do pop.) There are six strands of music, including rock. Rock Chick Troll wants to end all other strands of music, uniting trolls under Rock music. The other five types of trolls must band together to stop this.

Honestly, that was my first reaction. I know heavy rock bands are "bad ass" looking what with the way the look and perform etc, but Trolls is a kids movie and thinking about it, young children may grow up not liking the genre thinking that only bad people are rock stars etc.

I love rock music. And there isn't nearly enough of it in mainstream media/charts these days. It's kind of like Trolls is telling children rock is bad. Maybe there is a message at the end of the film that highlights how great rock music actually is etc, as it's a Dreamworks film after all. I hope so. Their current message actually sucks lol.

As you said, I hope they have a good message at the end of the movie.

I’m sure there will be a feel-good message at the end. After all, this is the very era of inclusivity, for the most part. Additionally, if they are going through the trouble of introducing all these new types of trolls and the message is coming together (while on the onset, coming together to defeat a common enemy), I’m sure they’ll bring it all in at the end. Whether that final message can undo the journey will* remain to be seen.

I know some HS kids that think Pink Floyd is "scary". The same kids listen to Cardi B and Nicki Minaj.

Apparently it's only in the Thailand version which is why I didn't notice it
