I made a thread the other day about how much I hate when kpop groups force unnecessary raps in songs that don't need them, and tbh I'm curious as to what everyone's biggest problems or pet peeves with kpop is.

one of mine is when kpop groups constantly lip sync, like every single stage even when they're standing still they still lip sync.

what about you guys?

also i get that many of you might say the fans, but I'm more curious to see what your problems are with the kpop industry, not the fans, but I don't mind if you still comment about the fans.

There is lot of issues with companies from unfair contracts to poor treatment.

But in terms of idols and performances, I'd say lipsynching is definitely one. Dance is not that high my priorities with kpop so I don't want vocals to be sacrificed for it. I'm alright singing with MR as long as ur still singing and ur voice can be heard. But if ur just lipsynching what is the point. You could just as well have professional dancers in stage lipsyching then.

I also don't like when idols aren't involved at all in process of creating the concepts, music, lyrics, outfits etc. I'm not saying every group needs to produce their own music at all, but I think lot of artistry is lost if groups are just given songs, concepts and wardrobes without them getting any say.

Many things, but lately, all MVs look as if directed and edited by the same person. Same camerawork, same lighting, and even same color palettes. Not to mention the recycled sets and props.

right? I don't really care about whether or not someone produces or writes, because that's not everyone's forte, but it would be nice if their opinions on what concept or sound they'd like were being heard by the company. its especially heartbreaking when you hear about idols being forced to do concepts that they're uncomfortable with.

also, I agree with you definitely when it comes to lip syncing, while I don't mind when idols lip sync sometimes... when it becomes a habit and its every single time and I can barely hear their vocals, it becomes irritating. especially when they do it during concerts.

But fan behavior is partially due to the way idols are marketed, so I guess I have a problem with companies marketing idols as pretty, perfect bf/gf material who don't date and have no opinions of their own, especially if they are serious or controversial.

I like the factory/manufactured/groomed nature and that many groups relay do care about the bond they establish, and embrace the concept of being positive role models. The best version of themselves.

I hate every single move to western norms that breaks that down.
If i wanted to follow for example drug using jerks singing about sex, drugs and swearing . I would still listen to american music.
I demand more, and that they can sing and dance not that they have to do it all the time.

Another example Tiffany swearing as much as she did made me like the show less. I want to be a better person and that does not help me stay on task.

I prefer live performances with actual singing.

I dislike all the low camera shots and the directors who are crotch focused way too often they cut to a camera and the camera guy is not on task.

1] Fans not accepting new concepts - i.e nct fans stan the group but not the concept when there million groups with normal concepts they act like there isnt literally other groups they could support instead... or when they want a group concept to change or they want there idols to try new things and when it ends up being something they dont like have a paddy like a child i.e twice - fancy

2] Companies spending more money on 1 group verses another... this doesn't bother me much when the groups are older as cant keep spending money on a group what isnt bringing in money
but when it groups like nct 127 verses nct dream when dream brings in more money than 127 with the little work they get it annoyos the hell out of me
nct dream boom looked good but compared to nct 127 regular its disgusting how unfair the video quality was

i know they doing very well but i feel like bighit arent pushing them as much as they could right now

edit: not saying they actually would ignore bts...just saying people would get concerned again ... until bts starts enlisting i dont think it would be smart to rock the boat

The circle jerk. I get that there is always one group that is hugely popular for a certain amount of time until another one takes over. I wish every group who obtained this success more years of success and they are ground-breaking, but when it's a group you're not interested in, it gets annoying really quickly.
This mentality seems to have grown since BTS. Again, I'm not hating on them and they deserve their success, but the award shows are just huge circle jerks around them. They get a lot of performance time (together with EXO, which I get cuz both are popular) but the constant reaction clips of just them is tiring. The amount of articles about them every time they breathe or fart is ridiculous.
As a fan, it must be great to be spoiled with so much content about them. For someone who isn't interested, it's tiring to have them shoved into your face constantly. (And again, this is no hate to them, they're probably not even aware this happens).

Next, the reaction on variety shows. You know that moment when an idol does something "shocking" or "amazing"? Where they show like 10 different clips of other people reacting before you get to see what they're reacting to? Yes. STOP

Next, the drought. There are periods where we get treated well and get comeback after comeback (like now) but at the 2nd half of the year, nothing happens.

Next, fans who are jealous because another group of the same company gets a song before their faves. I get that some companies have preferences and prefer to focus on a certain gender sometimes but a lot of fans are complaining about younger groups getting more shine than their faves. Duh, they're a new group.

Lastly, people wanting new concepts/sounds but hating on a group that comes up with new concepts/sounds. MAKE A CHOICE

I was waiting for someone to say something like this. I hate how idols are marketed as bfs and gfs to their fans. while it may be smart in the beginning to get the idol "closer" with their fans. it just causes a stir of problems in the future when the idol actually wants to be normal and go on dates. I'm glad that it's changing now but its taken multiple idols to be bashed and criticized for living a normal life for it to happen.

I just feel for a rookie group there not doing much of the rookie things
going on alll of the variety shows [what bts did]

plus i was expecting them to have there own little tv show

at the end of the day big hit needs to ignore the fans as txt needs to be pushed as much as they can before bts goes to the military
at the end of the day they arent the same group
and fans need to decide do they want bts to have a break or work there butts of like there a rookie group what txt is

1. fans who forget rookie groups work more than older groups to get fan bases idols dont really enjoy over working in any show old idols talk about being idol they all talk about not enjoying being over worked and not sleeping

Toxic fandoms piss me off more than ever. Putting idols down for no reason just to make themselves feel better is sickening. We've lost too many precious idols in the past and it needs to stop. Fans need to learn compassion and support for everyone.

Label companies who don't take proper care of their idols and starve them, sexually harass them and even abuse them. It's so fucking disgusting how this continues to happen and nothing happens until it gets "exposed" like take care of it before the whole world finds out will ya? I wanna know if the idols are okay afterward. It just sucks knowing you can't do anything but support them online -- I'd like to go there myself and kick some arses. >:(
