This is another reason I'm sad MOMOLAND had gotten some measure of backlash from a section of kpop fandoms.

Derided as a some sort of one trick pony putting out a string of Bbooms.

But the thing is...

They are actually pretty great.

And if nothing else, are putting out a consistent array of songs that aren't the usual girl crush appeal.

Honestly, I love how Oh My Girl does their own thing and retains their identity no matter what they do. Whether they go all wacky like in Banana Allergy, or their usual stuff like Secret Garden/SSFWL, or doing covers on Queendom, you can always tell it's them and they never lean too much into cute or girl crush territory.
But Yooa apparently said in a V Live that she wants to do girl crush, please no

I just haven't been able to get into Everglow. They are just too IN YOUR FACE like BlackPink They are just too gangsta for me lol. Itzy continues to be my next gen f(x). I'm all in with this group. As long as they dont go too far like 2NE1 or 4Minute.

Great take though. I hadn't even thought about this concept being too American but it is. Kpop was unique cause it was it's own thing with a splash of American influence. Now it's almost all American influence.

Really makes me miss Crayon Pop even more. Nobody in America was jumping around with helmets on. They were original.

Everglow's Bon Bon Chocolat was the perfect vibe for me- kinda elegant mixed with girl crush, both the song and MV/aesthetic was pretty but mature, not aggressive.
Adios and Dun Dun have been like you said, too in your face lol.

That being said, I love Loona's So What even tho that is hyper aggressive as well but mostly coz I love the production on it. But Itzy is walking that fine line perfectly so far.

I loved Rocket Punch's comeback tho, it wasn't girl crush for me but not cute either, it had that bright, poppy feel with a catchy chorus.

I am a Lullet ( a Cherry Bullet fan) and the song is really good. I have no problem with it but I also began to love them because of their cohesive and original project : a cute girl group with a video game concept and a musical signature which suits this concept now they are a bit too much like the others current rookie groups for my taste.

I think losing Lin lin Kokoro and Mirae hurt them sound wise.
I was just watching all b sides form the first 2 albums and aside from ofc may and haeyoon they had key parts.

i mean ill check out the lives from each of these 2 and i already bought Rp's album but at first glance not really what i want..
RP at least was colorful and upbeat. The drab khaki in CB was even less fun than the style in BA.

yea but i followed fx almost from the time i learned of them, watched the tv shows and liked the music just never bought the albums.
Kinda like Secret, Kara and Tara i know all of em and the titles but no b sides or albums watched WI ect with them.
Fx made the transition from follow to stan alone from 2nd gen. Oc might have but they died before 2015 and my great album buying spree expanded beyond snsd / apink.

3rd gen i followed mmm omg april and they never made it over the hump. mmm has faded so i do not even follow any more.
