Maybe in terms of fandoms but not the gp, the gp is still using mostly digital software. I think everyone’s just going through a slump Rn. When other big platforms like Spotify finally stabilize themselves in korea and melon gets their shit together then I think Everything will go back to normal.

Not in that way but BTS destroys the chart every comeback and it doesn't seem like it's getting better it seems to be just getting worse so digitals are gonna end up being meaningless

true but tbh those are just zombie streamers, every bg fandom streams the shit out of the songs during the day, and all the songs drop off at night because everyone is asleep. melon actually freezes the charts at night so zombie streamers cant take advantage of the fact that everyone is asleep. digitals won't ever be useless as they are a good teller of how popular a song is with the gp. melon just needs to come up with a different system so that it cant be taken advantage of.

300 k gets you 3rd daily or weekly when even during last years mess that would need to be 600.

true, I think all of the icharts should just be taken away instead of a few, a lot of them are useless considering that the majority of Koreans use melon. I think they should implement something like the hot 100, it updates weekly and actually takes into account streams, unique listeners etc. I think it would be way more accurate then what they have now.

that's true, but the system is also messed up as well. the real charts are often times taken up by albums with groups that are extremely popular. and smaller companies buying their artist's songs so they can get to the top is very common nowadays. they need to do something about it. but I definitely agree that the digitals have been lacking for whatever reason, I don't think it has much to do with physicals though considering only fans buy physical albums.

As far as how much worth the charts have then Melon and Genie are the only ones worth anything but even then Melon is worth more than the others combined so you can just pay attention to Melon. I think they should change the real time to being a secondary chart while making an hourly chart based on the ULs alone the main chart since fandoms will brute force on the comeback but tend to drop off pretty fast.
