What happened in the Taeyong bullying scandal [An explanation for the uninformed] (1 Viewer)

So the picture has become quite clear to me now.

Taeyong bullied a person B at school, calling her names and making fun of her looks
Another person A who went to the same school came out and talked about it.

Taeyong apologized to B personally and the victim B got compensated as well. (Hasn't been specified how much)
The informant A claims that Taeyong's apology was insincere in his apology + doesn't think Taeyong has kept up with his promises to donate to school violence causes etc.

SM ent. refutes that proving that Taeyong HAS been donating to those causes, volunteering and visiting victims etc.

Informant A claims that the Victim B was forced into signing a contract that forbids them from talking about it any more and if they do, they would be forced to pay back double the compensation. SM ent. claims B wasn't forced into anything and everything was approved of by B's lawyers. The contract also talked about the compensation B would be receiving and was made for security purposes.

Informant A also claims SM promised to get the post that was getting her a lot of hate comments, but never did so. SM claims that they never promised that, but have given A still legal advice on how to deal with the hate comments and the reason they didn't take down the post, is because it would be a pointless waste of money since it wouldn't actually stop the hate.

Pannatic made a post that was very good.

Overall it seems to me like.... the informat B has a grudge against Taeyong and is refusing to let it die. It isn't the victim who is unhappy with the compensation they have gotten or anything like that. It's just the informant trying to drag Taeyong down.

When the bullied becomes the bully. I understand bullying leaves life long scars but trust me holding on to a grudge doesn't allow yourself to start healing. Seriously at this point I want to know what she plans to gain.

But that is the thing, the one pushing this agenda isn't even the victim who was bullied!
The one who brought this situation to light and isn't letting it die is not the victim.

It's somebody separate who went to the same school.

There are some people I really fucking hate. SO much I'll throw a party when they kick the bucket. Intense - no this is more like obsession. She's obsessed with destroying him to gain something. I really hope someone turns around and pegs her to the wall and he does not get canceled.

Seems messy. Does seem odd that the person who isn't victim is vocal about this though, brings up question of the motive.

But i don't rly want to take anyone's side without knowing more. Tbh kinda surprised how Taeyong was able to debut despite having this much of baggage, usually companies drop idols for lot less.

Taeyong has a face SM loves + he is charismatic, talented and a good leader.

I mean sure, but scandals often outweight any talent.

JYP dropped that one trainee in no time who was rly popular and pretty face in Produce X only over rumors. As soon as those came out, bye bye both his spot in the show and in JYP.

For some reason SM has decided to rly support Taeyong, even over some major scandals.

I feel like it's more special case, as YG is so tied to BB, they can't just drop them. Even YG himself was mixed up on Seungri's stuff. So it's more of situation of thriving or falling together.

Well here I think we see the difference in how SM and JYP approach idols and getting them popular. SM doesn't really care much about the GP, when it comes to male idols especially!

So I imagine they weighed the chances of Taeyong being a MAJOR fan favourite and having a LOT of support despite the bad press vs him having a bad image with the GP.... and decided (quite correctly) that he would still bring a lot of money in.
