Big Bang seemed to have known Seungris friends were bad news but that he was doing all this illegal stuff? Not sure about that or fault them when it seems they did try.

As for AOA well Mina unfollowed Chanmi and Seolhyun so she's only following Choa, Hyejeong, Youkyung and Yuna now so mess.

Being guilty by association sucks, and frames people who could actually be innocent, or at least powerless to do something.

It leads to accusations without proof, and can seriously harm those that do not deserve it.

I disagree. All of Big Bang have been involved in shit that warrants them to be cancelled individually and the fact that they're all still managing to work in and around the industry is one of the biggest examples of male privilege in kpop but they can't be held responsible for each others actions because at the end of the day, all of their controversies pertain to things that happened OUTSIDE OF THEIR GROUP.

The stuff that happened with Jimin was WITHIN the group and DURING group promotions. Mina has even said that other members and staff were present when Jimin would bully her and that they even had conversations when Jimin wasn't present where the other members acknowledged that Jimin hated Mina but when it was actually happening, none of the members stood up for her. The other girls might not have known how severely the bullying was effecting Mina mentally but they knew that it was going on and no one spoke up about it so they do hold a certain amount of responsibility.

You could try and make the same case for Big Bang and Seungri but the thing is, there are clips of the other members warning Seungri about his "friends" on MULTIPLE occasions and he clearly chose not to listen to the others. There really isn't anything more they could've done. Mind you, that doesn't mean that they don't all deserved to be cancelled for THEIR OWN BULLSHIT but you can't really hold them responsible for Seungri.

People shouldn't just cancel others without knowing more first. Hasn't there been many cases where one person blames another and then in the end it was the opposite- the one cancelled first ended up being more of victim. Ofc not saying Mina is not victim, rather i'm using that as example on people jumping too quickly to conclusions. We don't know group dynamics of AOA that well. We also don't know what BB members knew. We don't know if someone tried to do sth.

And it's like saying Ft Island knew as well what Jonghoon was up to. It was mentioned many MANY times by the members of Ft that their life and work is separate so outside of work they rarely see each other. BB has their run in with trouble, but I highly HIGHLY doubt if they knew SEungri was in that dep one of them wouldn't have called him out, and called him out hard. I think GD would be the first then maybe taeyang or Daesung both those two being religious.

AOA with the bullying is hard and complicated. Did they see it and say nothing. Frack did it seem normal to what other girl groups dynamics are.

Everything is a complicated twisting road, and guilty by association should not apply in this case. Guilty by association applies if stood by as a situation was happening and they willingly stood by and did nothing. And i want to drive home the point just because you see someone being bullied doesn't necessarily mean you are able to step in. Fear and intimidation can old a person back .

This sums it up perfectly.

AOA's situation sucks because we don't know who did what. Mina said someone stood up for her but also implied they were bystanders, the former member implied she knew that Jimin was like and certain situations (dragging her into a dressing room closet and kicking her out to dorm) make it even harder to believe they didn't know what was going on.

I think the BigBang and Seungri scandal is different to the AOA and Jimin situation.

The Burning Sun Scandal was activity that Seungri (and Yang) were more then likely taking part in, on their own time. All the members are adult men who lead separate lives & live by different morals. I personally don’t think we can confidently hold them responsible for illegal actions performed by a individual member in their personal life who had incentive to hide his dealings. However I understand if some people are suspicious for various reasons & aren’t comfortable with the rest of the members.

With AOA & Jimin this was a situation clearly happening long term within the group that everyone knew about & if working together could have stopped it. We saw for years other members being close with Jimin, have Mina’s own testimony & saw how the majority stayed to work with Jimin.

Personally I unstanned BB a month or so after they resigned with YGE. For me seeing all of them rejoin a company attached to & reasonably e involved in such exploitation & corruption spoke volumes about their character, whether it was indifference or complicity.

Frankly I don’t hold any of the BB or AOA members accountable for what they’re bandmates did, but for what they clearly did or didn’t do.
  • Despite all the malicious activity attached to YGE all 4 BB members decided to resign. Make of that what you will.
  • Jimin’s bullying of Mina was severe, open & persistent, yet none of the members acted in ways to end it or significantly decrease it. Make of that what you will.

I hate cancel culture so much and wouldn't cancel anyone for stupid reasons.

I think there is much more we have to find out about AOA ( and honestly Big Bang too) about these very different situations.

Yes I don’t think there is enough to cancel i.e. deplatform & oust from the industry anyone. It’s just up to casual fans & stans
of the groups if they think given what is known if they want to keep supporting their careers.
